The only problem with Korver, is that I see him more as a SF, and we have plenty of those. I really feel like we need a guy at the 2 who can both shoot and handle the ball. Korver's ballhandling isn't bad, just not really to the level we need. At the same time, yes, I think he'd help the team. Kind of a big/long contract for what he's currently brining to the table though

I think he would be a perfect 2. All his job will be is to stretch the defense and be able to knock down 3 pointers. His contract expires after next season and I think he would be a nice expiring to have next year as more teams will get crazy to lose contracts before the 2010 off season. 42.7% from three point range is a very nice commodity. Especially when Durant is the only one shooting above 40%

Korver would be a really good bench player.. 3 pt specialist

JR Giddens
Bill Walker... interested... Yes if both were included but do we have a roster spot

Joe seems to like playing with the young guys and he is really a leader on the team. He called a closed door players only meeting before PJ got fired. He has a role on the team this year. And yeah he is a great role player to have for some contenders and is therefore actually worth something. The only way I would get rid of him is for another expiring plus some DECENT picks. Aint no way we are buying him out though. To answer the wiretap, no, we dont have any interest in doing that.

Im looking to see at least two of these players gone by trade deadline though.
-Collison
-Watson
-Wilcox (expiring, but with his recent play his stock is rising)
-Wilkins
-Petro (I know its wishful thinking but man we gotta get rid of this guy.)

He'd be the second option on this team, why not?

I use to like Larry Hughes game quite a bit. But he is so incredibly brittle.

Back when the Sonics were in Seattle, Ray Allen and Larry Hughes both were free agents the same off season. I actually wanted Wally Walker to go after Larry Hughes because the guy plays D. However I wouldn't have given him the kind of money Cleveland gave him. Danny Ferry is an idiot. They threw tons of money at him. And now a few years down the road Larry Hughes is still brittle, is paid too much and not the biggest threat from 3.

I think you could get a much better player overall (including injuries) for a lot less money or tradable pieces.

I see where yall coming from. Hughes and his history of injuries will be alot to consider when it comes to trading for him.To london_sonic wanting Hinrich than Hughes. With your trade proposal, if Hinrich comes back, how will that effect Westbrook and Watson? watson obviously will need to go for sure. Will the move for Hinrich effect Westbrook's confidence since he starts now?

Hinrich is a very good point that can be got pretty cheap considering his contract and the Bulls stack of guards I see him as a bargain.Hinrich is a good defensive player that could back up Westbrook help him develop and also play minutes at SG.Watson is going to be dealt 100% and Hinrich would be a serious upgrade.Hughes is older costs more but has shorter contract but doesnt have the skills to play the point.Another option altogether is to trade our expirings for picks and make a run for Gordon but I think he will be far more expensive than Hinrich or Hughes but is a natural SG.But hes a bit small and has question marks over his defensive ability.

Of the three, I think Hinrich would fit the best. He has played with Gordon the past few years so he would be used to playing along side a smaller guard. He would add a guy that can shoot the ball and take care of it which is a huge need right now. I dont think it would hurt Westbrook at all, if anything I think it would help.

They need some guys that can shoot. Whoever gets traded I would like to see a young guy that can shoot brought back in the deal. Teams are shooting triple the amount of 3's on us because we only have 3 guys that will shoot them.

I don't think that brining in Kirk would impede Westbrook at all. I think that he actually compliments him very well. If we got him, with our current roster, I think he would obviously start in the backcourt. He's got PG skills and some range on his jumper...

Title contenders such as Celtics, Cavaliers and even Magic will like to add a solid veteran player like Joe Smith, together with his expiring contract. I expect Presti to get a first round pick or a young player in return from those teams. Gabe Pruitt and J.J. Redick would be my top choice.

I wouldnt be against Pruitt. If we could get him, Giddens/Walker, and a pick that would be great. Dont know if they would do that or if the contracts would match though.
