Wow. This game was a disaster.
Fire Billy and get a coach who has the balls to bench Westbrook if he doesn't play defence (or plays like **** in general). That will go a long way to improving the team.
Also, that tweet is a really good example. I tuned in during the 4th and saw some great ball movement to get Melo an open 3. Then for the next 10 plays, it was stupid iso.
I think the biggest problem is that the team doesn't know what to do when the high PnR is blown up. I noticed at least 3 plays where the PnR failed and so they just threw it to whoever was up top and let them isolate.

I'm at work right now, so I can't really do it myself.
They have been poor, but the team as a whole has been good, as has the defense until the 4th.
We wouldn’t have to be so clutch if Westbrook doesn’t shoot 3 for 22.

I’ll just leave this here:
[O'Connor] Maybe OKC's real problem is the player who forces shots, shoots inefficiently, stops the ball, hunts for assists and rebounds, and doesn't play any defense.

Yes, of course. I'm glad Bill Simmons' disciples can get their hottakes in.

Yeah he always seemed 'level headed' but that's just a 'I only watch them 2x a year but let me get in on these scorching hot takes' tweet.

Honestly speaking, I've watched every game this year. What part of that IS NOT accurate this year? The Jazz game, Celtics game, Minnesota game 2, yesterday...All those losses came from Russel doing exactly that.

I don't feel he's hunting for assists and rebounds. He's shooting less than last year but still making some dumb shots. For the rest I pretty much agree. Just think the all hunting for assists/rebounds narrative is a cheap shot at Westbrook since last year and has nothing to do with the fact that he's playing trash.

When has he hunted for numbers? Hes deferred too much this year. Melo is still too big a part of the offense and Russ hasn't been himself.

Deferred too much?? He still has had the ball the most and taken the most the shots. What exactly is he differing? He needs the ball more? He needs more shots? The games the thunder have won he has actually shot less and distributed more. The key number for the team to win is his assist and turnovers. Assists up Turnovers down Thunder win more. Jacking up crazy shots isn't the answer.
Melo last night was 10/20 and 6/10 from the three point line if you watch the game he needed to be more involved not less. He clearly had the hot hand last night and Russ should have deferred more to him. But instead Russ tried to be the hero and failed. Until Russ learns what needs to be done on a nightly basis to win with other top end talent then the thunder will continue to get the same results. And everyone will blame the coach - Melo - PG - Roberson. But it all comes down to Russ

So the guy who needs to learn to win is literally the guy who's won the most? Melo is at this point the most one dimensional of the 3. He is in essence a glorified role player ideally and should be taking fewer shots. Russ has been poor by any standard. But Melo needs to be at most 3rd in pecking order offensively for.them to have any shot.

Won the most because he made it yo the finals with Durant Harden and ibaka. Basically had a more talented team than Melo has even played on. Melo made it to the WCF with Billups as the second best player. Russ made to the finals playing at best the 2nd star role. Maybe to win that is the role he needs to play?
If Melo is the 3rd option then that would alive him from most of the blame. If the first option was playing better then there would be no complaining about the third option.
It's easy to blame others when your favorite player is playing like crap. It always has to be someone else's fault. I use to be that way also.

Melo has been too big a part of the offense? So you want more shots for Russel or George or Roberson? Melo seems to be the only player along with Felton capable of carrying the offense. Are you serious?

I never said it wasn't on Russ. It is. That doesn't change him.being this teams best player and most sucessful. Oh and he was just as important if not more than KD. Melo has been past his prime for a while and needs to accept a smaller role. I am not convinced he will.
Russ has sucked.
Melo needs a smaller role.
Both are true. And lol at the last part, I didn't even know Melo stans were still a thing.
