two 2nds are the new top 20 protected FRPs. Small sample size in the league but overall seems like 2nd round picks value went up by a good margin and that's good for us.

I'm actually working so technically I'm getting paid to talk about basketball. I'm pretty much like Woj without the sources and constant stuttering on live tv.

Kizz. Anyways!

I'm pretty surprised that it was just 2 2nds for Dipo. Steep price for 10 million. Surprised protections weren't involved or something with moving the pick to a different year without protections.

surprised and not surprised. Pick value changed a lot in a year (probably because of the new CBA). I wanted to remove the pick protection for sure though...maybe it will happen regardless.

So has anyone really studied Micic much? What's his game like?

The more I think about it, the more I'm okay with stacking 2nds. Stack them into infinity until the next CBA.

I'm fine with the value just not the move I preferred.

Micic is not only a very good player, but he is also a great leader with good basketball IQ. A little bit a CP3 in Europe. Great energy and does a little bit of everything. He is a team-player and not selfish. I saw several games from his team the last 2 years and had always an eye on him, because he was also in our books in OKC.

Rockets/Spurs/Blazers bottom 3 in the West. Rest is pretty open. Hope Jazz overperform a bit. Really hope Harden isn't going to the Clippers but with Lillard likely going to Miami, it's gonna happen.

Studied? Absolutely not. But according to what I've seen on youtube: good shooter, typical Euro with creative passing, big balls.

Whenever you get home from work:

This trade looks different now:

Philadelphia 76ers President of Basketball Operations Daryl Morey announced today that the team has acquired Danny Green, Terrance Ferguson and Vincent Poirier (pour-ee-ay) from the Oklahoma City Thunder in exchange for Al Horford, a 2025 protected first-round pick and the draft rights to Théo Maledon (No. 34 selection in 2020 NBA Draft) and Vasilije Micić (No. 52 selection in 2014 NBA Draft). The 2025 first-round pick is protected for pick Nos. 1-6, and if the pick does not convey in 2025, it will be protected for pick Nos. 1-4 in both 2026 and 2027. If not conveyed in the first round of the 2025, 2026 or 2027 drafts, the pick will be a 2027 second-round selection.

i'd ignore highlights and numbers micic puts up in turkish league. that competition is too easy for him. the higher usage style micic plays in euroleague games closely resembles the way primary ball handlers play in the nba. a lot of pnr, pull-up threes, and inside-out basketball. he is not an explosive athlete but his handle is better than someone like giddey and he can make threes from beyond nba range. he is exceptional in pnr especially with a big bodied screener. thunder legend tibor pleiss is on efes and if you watch micic highlights from last euroleague especially the big game he had near the end, so many of his points come off screens set by pleiss.

the biggest questions for him in the nba is will he be able to get to the line in the nba or does he become primarily a shooter and how he will defend. he's strong for his height and fairly quick but not explosive. having him and giddey on the court together for example could be bad for defense. but off the bench as a sixth man primary ball handler, that would be the ideal role for him on this team.

Each day Dort in OKC makes less sense. I wish he wasn't Shai's BFF.

Shai will get over it if he's in the second round of the playoffs with 30 draft picks to come and an actual PF. And I hear Jalen has a great personality. And dunks in people's faces instead of bricking layups at a league leading rate.

yeah I think he has a great relationship with JDub both on and off the floor (same with Giddey to a lesser extent).

It might be early to trade Dort since we still need to watch a bit of Cason and Micic but I can't wait to trade him + picks for a good PF.

Would love if we can S&T PJ Washington for Dort.

Honestly Dort would be pretty helpful playing next to Lonzo.

You know, Dadouv mentioned selling high on Joe and I wasn't real hip to it last week. I am now if he's paired with Dort and you're getting a big that fits who doesn't have an outrageous contract. Don't know who that is. But a guard rotation of Shai, Micic, Cason, Wiggins works considering how fluid the system is and Jdub and Josh's ballhandling. And there's always Lindy waiting in the wings in a pinch. Would also be okay with trading Wiggins but I think his value is lower and he's just as valuable.

I'm for trading Dort and Mann for a PF like C.Wood or O.G.Anunoby
