 Wanted to mention this actually, but couldn't bring myself to do it.

You guys are loaded. Two starters for one and all those assets. I wouldn't be surprised to see OKC get farther than the Clippers next year.

I'm kinda afraid what happens if Russ stays. Russ/SGA/Gallo/Grant/Adams is a really weird lineup with absolutely no strengths.
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.

Two years ago we don't get a haul that looks anything like this.

sure, but westbrook wouldn't have been worthless either.

i'm a bit nervous sam flips this for another star and tries to compete still.

I'd be very surprised if Russ is worthless. He was an all-star last year, he has name value, he's still a top twenty player.

It is a nice haul. We won't be better than them next year. They actually have a nice cast around PG and KL. The lakers on the other hand have a roster to build.

What a way to wake up. Wow. I've always thought nothing but love for PG for re-signing here in the first place. He played his heart out. He got injured. But he gave it his all.

And 5 firsts plus SGA. I'm excited.

I think Sam will try to get proven players but it won't be to play along westbrook. Find an Oladipo-like player to pair with Shai.

You can never underestimate a team's desire to acquire a multi time all star that's still even still in sniffing distance of his prime. Think about all that the Nets gave up for Garnett and Pierce and those guys were well past their primes at that point.

I'll never forget the feeling of logging on to realgm at 4:30am and seeing that Kawhi has been traded but noticing about 8 threads about okc and trying to figure out what was going on. Insanity.

Which probably won't be worth much. Miami never misses the Playoffs and the Clippers look to be set up for the foreseeable future. I don't care about some guy we might draft in 2026 who is still in middle school right now.

If the heat were considering taking wall to get beal, I would think they would be very interested in Russ.

Yep, Pierce/Garnett/Johnson were my immediate thoughts. Names have value, especially when they can still play.

this is a brilliant trade by sam no matter how it shakes out. five first round picks is incredible + a pick swap + a promising player still on rookie scale. this is how you start a rebuild, bro. hopefully that's the direction sam is going in. the thing is, you combine those first round picks with (hopeully) the lottery picks you are getting while you suck. we'll have at least two 1sts almost every year. crazy.

That roster is awful though. Remove protections on that one pick, but what else do you want from them? Herro and adebayo? How do you match salaries?

Yes, I'm really excited, especially since "Sam" has whiffed on almost every draft pick since Roberson. A bunch of late firsts will really get this rebuild going. Yay!
