Well, team seems to be getting a lot of good looks. Just couldn't hit them. Bench Ferguson and let Diallo and Burton get those minutes. It was also disappointing that we didn't even really try to use Adams and Noel together considering they were doing whatever they wanted in the paint. This team is what we all thought they were, a team going nowhere with Billdo. Team is way too talented to be 0-3.

We shot 39 threes. We missed 30 of them. Had we made 4 more threes, we win. I think Presti just wants the team to start taking more 3s. Wouldn’t surprise me.

In order to make 4 more threes we would've had to shoot 16 more...

Yes. Growing pains.

We are scratching the surface of what this team can be with the new additions. Also, having no Roberson definitely puts more of a load on everyone. That’s the silver lining of it all. The entire team has to be better on defense if they want to succeed. And they will be, but it will take some time. The offense is also going to look a lot different with Schroder playing off of Westbrook and vice versa.

People are just really impatient. This is going to be a process for everyone.

Dude we didn’t play the warriors. We ought to be able to beat the kings without russ and George. Expectations are an ok thing to have.

Watching this Thunder team is like your mind is somehow in two places at once. On one hand, you have these expectations that the team is actually going to play according to its talent, and then you catch yourself cheering because they finally make a 3 after 20 tries or because some bum like Burton actually managed to drive to the rim and score. It's insane: You're hoping for Top 5, but instead you're cheering like you're following a bottom 5 team with a couple of lottery picks on its roster. And we're so used to underperforming and generally being dumb, undisciplined and so incredibly volatile, we don't really care anymore. The disconnect between realistic expectations and the oncourt performance has been there for so long, it's the new norm for this team.

that would be hilarious. he builds a roster without any three point shooting-- when questioned on it he says they're just going to be fast and explosive. then he wants the team without any three point shooting to shoot 40 threes a game.

Defense has actually been okay before tonight. No where than sans robes last season.

These are not the kings of last year they beat a utah team that almost beat the dubs lol. Plus we lost one of our defensive coaches .

Exactly. The “kings are trash” narrative is getting old.

Fox is for real. So is Hield. And they’ve got shooters (Bjelica, Bogdanovic, Ferrell, Jackson) and they’ve got guys who can rim run and get boards in Bagley and WCS. People have always underrated WCS by the way. He’s just been on a bad team, but Kings got some ballers now. Not saying they are going to be studs, but they have a balanced roster with a good coach and solid players with high upside.

Well, no. 39 3s.

-6 for Westbrook
-6 for Patterson
-9 for George
-3 for Ferguson
-5 for Grant
-5 for Schröder
-2 for Burton
-2 for Diallo
-1 for Abrines

I'm seeing a total of 16 for guys that can actually shoot. With the rest of them, you can probably expect a 3P% of close to 30 % or so. Just because the shot is open, that doesn't mean you're taking a good shot. I don't know why this is so hard to understand; before teams just started chucking like crazy, people would realize that the opposing team WANTS your worst shooters to take 3s. Yet we seem to don't mind, at all. We just keep taking them.

Uhh They didn’t beat the jazz. You were just trashing fox and now you’re defending the kings.

I'm waiting for Donovan to say something along the lines of "Well.... I liked the looks we got tonight. They didn't go in, but those are the looks that we are looking for. I thought Russ played great and was able to provide great energy and leadership out there on the floor. I liked the shots he took and we will continue to encourage him to take those shots because we know he can make them."

It wasn't good sans robes last year though. It was fine, not glaringly bad.

Do you know how you get better at playing defense? By playing defense.
