This may not be popular with anyone except kizz but I really hope we miss the playoffs. Maybe George still buys in and we get lucky in the draft. That really seems like our best option to improve the roster both immediately and long term.

What else I gained from that: Adams is 15th in contested 3 point shots. Our rim protector and an incredibly gifted rebounder. In the top 15 of defended 3 point shots.

What else is there to say at this point.

3 out of our top 5 in 3pt contests are power forwards or Center. That's a scheme issue. Also we have 3 players in the top 20 and would have 4 if Dre was healthy, we give up 3 pointers like they are candy and it's Halloween.

This is probably a consequence of our switch-everything scheme and the fact that we show higher on the PnR than most. It's definitely schematic for our bigs to contest more of them than usual.

We really need the ping pong players to bounce our way and get a top three pick. I think that’s highly unlikely. As far as finding an impact player at 12-14, it’s very possible. Guys like Kawhi, Giannis and dononvan Mitchell weren’t high picks. Jokic was a second round pick. I’m not saying I think any of this will actually come to fruition, but I think it’s about the only path forward to significantly improving the roster immediately unless Melo waives his NTC and were able to move him for something better. I think the first scenario is more likely than the second. Neither will probably happen.

They certainly are ripe with assets, teams like Boston and San Antonio and Houston and Toronto were all making moves with theirs too. What awful general managers they have.

Steven Adams was the 12th pick in a weak draft. This is a deep draft. You could end up with Miles Bridges at 12th.

and royce young talking about the robust buyout market :lol:

if they took a minute and reproached failure rather than rationalized it maybe the thunder would have impetus to perform better.

Can't seem to find it, but I think there was a lakers(?) media guy on twitter ranking/grading the play calling of NBA teams and that he said he'd be updating it as the season goes on. Any progress on that?

ilya is better than melo or grant but he's the kind of player who would suck bad here. i've been pining for ilya since 2011.

But hey, at least we got rid of a 1st round pick and acquired a worse player to get him out of here.
