I would rather have Adams than Carmelo, especially long term. Carmelo will be 34 at contract time. George is the guy to really try to keep. Westbrook-George-Adams can be a great trio.

Right but that’s not really our decision. Melo has a NTC and if he opts in then that leaves us either paying a repeater tax or choosing between Adams and George.

If everything goes well and PG decides to stay Melo would help the team.

Normally he wouldnt decline his 27.9M option. But OKC can offer him 40m/3 year deal.
Basically extending his contract without releasing him.
That'd cut 14m for next years salary.
Robertson, Singler, Patterson also comes to my mind.

I agree, Russ and Melo have competed hard on D (relatively) and it has me excited. The issue will be how long it keeps up, particularly when the season is near its end.

He probably won’t have to hit a game winner to beat Denver this time too.

Last year was like 06-07 season of Kobe.
He recruited PG and Melo with his performance. He both convinced those guys and management. Now its time to win!

One of these games all three guys will play well. George is struggling offensively tonight.

Better mobility on offense. Not a great finisher but he's better than Perkins.
On D, he's not that slow and defends the rim well too.

i have a major problem with these super small grant / melo and grant / george lineups we've been trying to play. grant isn't good enough to anchor these lineups on either end, he sets poor screens, etc. i'd rather play dakari to be honest. or nick. they keep trying to have grant set these screens to free george but he's either not in the right place or sets the wussiest screen possible.

George has done a lot of things well tonight but he can’t buy a basket.
Edit-never mind.

the problem is he can't dribble and donovan's offense is very bad at getting open shots off the ball.

Guys, I think Christon is going to get cut. They are giving all of his minutes to Hamilton tonight.

With this 2nd unit team looks lost on offense and defense. (one with j.Grant on C and d.hamilton handling the ball)

All this talk about him being the second option and I don't see it. He's a guy that can score, but not a guy you give the ball to and say "go get me a bucket". I personally think he's the one that has to sacrifice the most and do all the other things and less shooting for this team to work.

Am I the only one that feels more offball screens need to be made and less Iso or p&r. Literally just seem like ISO or p&r ever play. No curl plays or anything. Kinda the same offense Melo always get criticised for, but he just got here so it can't be his fault.

That's the beauty of having multiple options. Against 80% of the league, you don't need all 3 to play well.

we've been trying but playing small this is what happens. dakari came in for grant just a bit ago and we instantly had more space on offense.

We need to continue this during the season.

"Man, Melo is playing like trash tonight." Melo goes off for 15 pts in a quarter. :)
