Knicks need a PG. THJ or Schroder? Still interested in bullock too. No nba games on tv tonight. I’m just bored.

Unless OKC gets a point guard better than Felton, I want nothing with a Schroder for a decent wing trade. Felton is that bad. I don’t think that the wing upgrade of a guy like THJ is worth giving Felton minutes

I agree but I don’t tbink it would be hard to upgrade Felton. Maybe if the trade was made then we go after satoransky. Schröder is kind of a punk. That elbow he threw last night was dirty.

Josh Richardson. Good player, great contract and more than just new year of control.

If this team got Josh Richardson.... my god.

I'm going to throw my hat in the ring for a small-ish trade that could land us Chimezie Metu. I really like what the kid brings to the table. He's like a slightly less athletic version of Grant but with more of an offensive game. H'es got a nice mid-range game and shot-blocking ability. He also has a nice little Adams-esque post flip shot.

Wouldn't trade Patterson for him just yet, but if Patterson shows that he's clearly in decline, it's a deal I might consider at the deadline. Maybe something like Cunningham + Metu for Patterson at the deadline. Hell, maybe there is a Rudy Gay trade somewhere at the deadline if the Spurs are 8th seed or below.

For someone who insists that Presti is “all in” this year, your trade recommendations are going the wrong direction. Also, if this guy has potential then the spurs wont trade him. He’ll show up in 2-3 years and be a solid rotational player after everyone forgets about him. If the pop is willing to give up on him now then there isn’t much basis to think Dononvan will do what Pop can’t.

If they are looking for a 4 (I would), I'd see if the Kings would do Patterson and Ferguson for Bjelica. Or Patterson and another young guy.

Gosh I want to pull the trigger on this, but then again I don’t. I don’t think Bjelica will be THIS good all season, but he would be immensely valauble to this Thunder team.

But then Ferguson goes out and plays really good defense and starts flashing (albeit a bit) on offense.

Yeah I get that too. If I'm OKC I probably try to do it with someone else, but Bjelica is a career 38% 3 point shooter too so even if he cools off a bit he's still good and signed 2 more years for around 6.5-7M I think.

I’d also inquire about Tolliver. Surely Minnesota realizes they aren’t a playoff team now.

Problem is the kings keep winning.

A couple of other ideas for PF (which is honestly where I think the biggest jump in adding a shooter will help)

Trey Lyles
Davis Bertans
Frank Kaminsky (is he a PF)
Marvin Williams
Luc Mbah a Moute
Markieff Morris

I like all these except Kaminsky, I think he's a PF but he's just been bad. Looked decent his first few years then fell off.

Rooting for them now too, they're so fun.

Fox has developed faster than I expected. The West is going to be wild this year. The Suns are the only team I can say with certainty won't make the playoffs.

I'd say Dallas too and think the Kings fall off at some point too. But they're both competitive at the least and maybe more. Also figure Minnesota starts losing without Butler.

Trading for a PF makes little to no sense because any guy you bring in is still going to be behind Grant in the depth chart.

I like Covington and Saric to Minny. It gives them a pair of 3&D guys who will fit in. It gives the spacing needed with Wiggins. They might not make the playoffs, but they'll be within a few games. I think Dallas ends up around .500. Luka is not your average 19 yr old rookie. I think Dallas would prefer another top 5 pick to go with Luka and Smith Jr, but I don't think they'll get it. I also think Houston will get back in the playoff hunt now that Harden, CP3 and Gordon are all playing and Melo is gone.

I just see even the "bad" teams, outside of Phoenix, as capable of winning 40 games which would have them at least competitive for a playoff spot and a few breaks from getting to getting in. Memphis, Houston and a few others have injury prone players that could change that real fast, but there just isn't a team in the West where you can look at the schedule and feel like it should be a no doubt win, except Phoenix.

By comparison, after the top 5 in the East there really isn't much there. Philly, Boston, Toronto, Indiana and Milwaukee can compete with anyone on any given night. The rest of the East wouldn't even be in the playoff hunt in the West. You can argue the Hornets, but I'd disagree.
