I hope he'll come back one day. To retire as a Thunder, not somewhere else.

this is why retiring nick's jersey was dumb. it's going to cheapen westbrook's ceremony just a bit. i wonder how his and durant's relationship will go if he's no longer in okc. maybe they can get retired together. might be a thing to do, depending on how successful the franchise is down the road.

The time of Westbrook being a winning team’s best player has passed. George was our best player last year. If russ goes somewhere and wins, he can be a contributor but he won’t be the main guy anymore. Sam has made a lot of mistakes but we aren’t trading prime Giannis. As bad as billy is, Russ has diminishing skills that are the result of wear and tear.

But, what if they can get Russ. Detroit would love him.

Detroit would love him. They'd fill that arena up tbh

You have the weirdest collection of sports following I have ever seen. New Jersey, New York, Philly, OKC, and Notre Dame?

I do. I became an Eagles fan because growing up, my uncle had season tickets to the Birds so I would go to a game every year.

I became an Thunder fan, when they moved to OKC. I was a disgruntled Knicks fan that could not get on board with their decision making.

Yankees and Devils are the closest teams to where I lived.

The Fighting Irish is the Irish Catholic in me. If you ever get a chance get to South Bend for a Notre Dane game, you should totally do it. The history there is just something else, a game day weekend is just filled with things to see and do.

So was Naders contract guaranteed on 7/5? After all of this mess with George this one kind of fell through the cracks.

I still can’t believe we just started a re-build

And at some point he, his agent, his family etc. have to realize the toll its taking on his body to continue to play the way he does.

How so? Did your waiter at breakfast bring it up? Sports talk callers? Local editorials?

radio. friends texting me. postings on social media.

When you look at Miami’s recent collection of average players, I would probably talk myself into getting excited about russ amd jimmy like I tried to convince myself with Melo.

I wouldn't expecting Presti to trade Westbrook so quickly. A lot of negotiations to make a deal happen. He will try to send Russ somewhere he wants (probably Miami) but will get better offers from other teams so we will probably try to get the most from Miami and it could take a while.

We are talking about 4-5 teams trying to trade for an overpaid superstar declining that will cost 40+ millions/year for 4 years so teams would have to work in a lot of details about this. I hope it could be ASAP but I won't expect a trade anytime soon

Some rumors that rockets want Westbrook hope we dont take chris paul contract, maybe a three team deal sending paul to other place! I will prefer miami leaving dragic and gallinari as mentors and trading schroder

y'all
I'm just going to leave this here... the more tape I've watched of Shai, the more Kawhi I see in his offensive game. Very calm, cool, collected with a live dribble... plays with a high iq while finding his shot in the midrange or all the way to the rim... a highly effective scorer in the midrange / post while also having a three ball at his disposal.

he's also got great length on the defensive end and stays active there

he had some nice post-season experience as a rookie and made some big time plays both scoring the ball in crucial moments and setting up teammates

I'm not saying he's going to be a top 5 player in the league (see: kawhi reference), but the kid has "it" and will be an all-star player in the near future if his progression continues as a player

Not sure if I see an all star there or not but I like the pace he plays with and the defensive potential.

his 3pt release is slow. which is why he shoots so few of them presumably. hopefully he can tighten that up. in college he had .474 FTr. .272 FTr as a rookie which isn't bad considering his role.

based on his college play i'd suspect he has the ability to get to the line more often and he is a decent free throw shooter. combine that with more frequent 3pt shooting and maybe he can be a decent volume scorer on solid efficiency.

Chris Paul would be miserable here. He isn’t happy playing in good teams in major markets. Coming to a rebuilding small market would be toxic.

I think it's going to be a 3-way trade with Dallas and Miami, probably you get a combination of Herro, Winslow, Jones, couple of meh deals (Waiters, Johnson etc) and 1 first

If we get herro, I’m good with that.

Herro can't be traded. Unless the trade happens in a month or so which is unlikely.

Meh i dont know. I like him but he isn’t Zion. I think he needs to be the focal point of the trade. I dont know what the deal might look like but I’m not opposed to including Ferguson or Diallo if we need to.

Just think it's going to be difficult to get 3 ''assets'' in return. But yeah if we add Ferguson to this deal it's a different story.
