I don’t think Philly has the assets to get Kawhi. Fultz, Covington and Saric is meh for a player of Kawhi’s caliber.

Zhaire Smith, Miami 1st

Smith would be a great fit under pops. I forgot about him.

Would a future frp in 2022 and Melo be enough to get Tobias Harris? Add in a second or two? Tobias is obviously a much better player but he only has one year left on his contract. What is his realistic value?

No chance. La values him highly, main piece of the Griffin trade, played really well, young enough to be around for a while.

Crazy but I'd see if Melo would go to Toronto and flip him for Serge. Extra year but a little cheaper and can play some backup 5

Possibly something to keep an eye on.

I’d take any, but Chandler likely only goes if it means Nuggets dodging tax

I would take any of them as well.
Courtney lee: least expensive
Bazemore: probably the best fit for this teams of the three, but most expensive
Chandler: as you mentioned Denver wouldnt want any money back which makes him the least likely unfortunately.

Isn't he known as a good wing defender? Over the last four seasons, he's one of four guys who had more than two > 2.0 BLK% and > 2.0 STL% seasons.

If anything, offense has been his problem. He's been playing in the NBA for six years and last year was the first time he cracked 100 in individual ORtG.

He’s at least a pretty solid shooter and can sorta initiate an offense.

I think way too much was asked of him in his role in Atlanta. If he just played defense, shot 3s, and not be a ball stopper, then he would be a pretty decent fit IMO. He’s 6-5 with a 7-0 wingspan

Move a future first and get him. This guy would be perfect here. Denver has too many power forwards. We can make this happen.

Do we use the mid level?

What kind of trade will Melo accept?

Maybe. I'd say 50/50 at this point, which is much higher than I was thinking a week ago.

One to a contender. That give you Ryan Anderson for Houston as an option. He might take one to LAL so Melo for Deng. I can't think of anything else. It is also dependent on LAL not stretching Deng for space to sign someone like Cousins.

An actual best case scenario might be Randle in a S&T with Deng for Melo and Singler. OKC could then either stretch Deng or see if he can still hit 37% from the corner and treat him like Miami did Mike Miller just send him in to shot a few 3s and not expect anything else while PG gets his rest. It isn't ideal, but I think Deng still has enough in the tank to be playable as a guy who just shots a few 3s and should be able to give you decent defense. Think Abrines type of impact.

I like Randle more than most. I imagine that doesn’t happen because afternhis extension it doesn’t save us any money this year or next. For ownership to have that kind of payment multiple years in a row they need more than two allstars.

Kyle O’Quinn is still out there too. He’s got a little bit of range to his shot which would be nice.

I think we would have to be under the Lux tax to do a sign and trade. Then we would be hard capped at $5 million above the Lux tax for the rest of the year.

I hope we use the MLE, I know money wise it is asking a lot but I honestly feel the team is close.

I expect Melo to be traded or bought out this year at some point. As an expiring contract he will be valuable close to the deadline and Presti will probably gladly flip him for a player with a controllable contract. If Melo is not okay with that he is a highly likely for a buyout for veteran help going into the playoffs candidate for one of either the Rockets or Lakers, (then we try our best in F/A with his space which I know is not the teams forte, but it's something at least).

Carmelo needs to be coming off the bench, it's right for the team currently. Plus if he does want a shot at maybe still landing a half decent contract next yer he may be willing to waive his trade clause to somewhere that will give him more minutes/stats.
