Doesn't he just feel like the guy that ends up in golden state?

“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.

What kind of trade will Melo accept?
I hope we use the MLE, I know money wise it is asking a lot but I honestly feel the team is close.
I expect Melo to be traded or bought out this year at some point. As an expiring contract he will be valuable close to the deadline and Presti will probably gladly flip him for a player with a controllable contract. If Melo is not okay with that he is a highly likely for a buyout for veteran help going into the playoffs candidate for one of either the Rockets or Lakers, (then we try our best in F/A with his space which I know is not the teams forte, but it's something at least).
Carmelo needs to be coming off the bench, it's right for the team currently. Plus if he does want a shot at maybe still landing a half decent contract next yer he may be willing to waive his trade clause to somewhere that will give him more minutes/stats.

Hmm...mixed feelings on that if he comes here.

I think it depends what would go the other way, no?

Abrines and singler would be my guess.

It would be quite comical if we'd send Melo back to the Knicks.

I don't think the Knicks can re-acquire Melo since its been less than a year since he was traded.

I've never been clear on rather that means 365 days or a league year. Either way it could be agreed to.

Melo with the 2nd unit makes a ton of sense. But, it does not look like he is interested in that since he didn't hang out with Russ, PG, and Nas this past weekend.

Sam Presti is a genius, he isn't going to do that, someone else is getting traded.

If Sam Presti is a genius then he WANTS to compete against Melo in the playoffs. The problem whatever team picks him up for the vet minimum won't have Donovan coaching so they will play him minimum minutes in the playoffs instead of letting him cost them playoff games.
