What a disgrace of coaching ...
This is the exact same team as of 16-17 season, same plays, same mistakes, nothing improved, same old stagnant bull.
Role players aint even moving or cutting, Billy cant get the to buy in either ?

Also, great job running our Ferguson project, he's showing real progress on the court ...

Yet another disastrous game from the Patterson/Ferguson starting combo: 32 minutes played only 6 points on 2-13 shooting and both contributed almost nothing whatsoever. Makes it really easy for opposing teams when you put out 2 starters every game that won't ever produce. Ferguson might not be an NBA caliber player. I haven't seen anything in his overall body of work that leads me to believe he can make it in the NBA. Patterson might have been decent in Toronto but he's been very disappointing since coming to OKC and he looks slow, unathletic and offers nothing whatsoever offensively (reminds me of Kendrick Perkins). But yeah keep rolling those 2 out in the starting lineup though...it's just working out great.

I think you forget how bad Perkins was. Patterson at least still hits enough shots to appear like he belongs in the league.

It is really too bad that the last two coaches this team has had have been prone to playing bad players. If only Westbrook were less uncoachable, stuff like this wouldn't happen.

Patterson needs to be better. It’s not like Jerami Grant should be making him nervous about losing minutes. Grant was 3-12, 0-5 from three.

What's there to lose? Melo is gone and Patterson is playing 90 seconds more (!) per game than last season. Meanwhile Grant has played at least 28 minutes (up by 8 minutes per game compared to last season) in each game so far. He's actually leading the team in total 4th quarter minutes so far. Insanity.

Trust me I remember how atrocious Perkins was because I hammerred him to death on message boards for years yet Thunder fans always said I was wrong and "didn't understand" his value. As soon as he left OKC he went from starting and playing almost 30 minutes per game to never getting off the bench again and was booted from the league within 2 years because he sucked. Patterson isn't that bad but he doesn't actively make the team worse like Perkins did. He certainly doesn't do much more than breathe air though when he's out there. Guys like Patterson and Roberson can have a role on a team but it's dang sure not as a starter and you have to limit their minutes because they're just backup role players who are way too limited offensively to play much more than 12-14 minutes per game. They need to just cut Ferguson though. The kid has no future.

Perkins was on the roster of a Finals team just last season. We all know you would never allow facts to get in the way of your argument.

Cool. The starters have sucked so far. Your point?

Defense is worlds better with Grant in instead of Patterson, according to the numbers of course.
Also, I did a little experiment just now. I looked at 2-man line up data and literally every time I put (x) on the court w/ Patterson, defense got worse. Plug in Grant instead of Patterson, defense gets better. The numbers bear it out.
Small sample size, of course, but the number show what I'm seeing on the court.

Well. what you have to look for is this:
https://stats.nba.com/impact/advanced/#!?LineupIDs=202331~203500&VsLineupIDs=203924&TeamID=1610612760&VsTeamID=1610612760&SeasonType=Regular%20Season&Season=2018-19
That Grant's defensive numbers look better is understandable since he's played with the bench as well and the bench has been much better defensively.
So if we just look at George-Adams (as a filter for the starters), you get
Grant ON: 84 ORtG | 123 DRtG | -39 NetRtG (36 minutes)
Grant OFF: 108 ORtG | 120 DRtG | -12 NetRtG (50 minutes)
https://stats.nba.com/impact/advanced/#!?LineupIDs=202331~203500&VsLineupIDs=202335&TeamID=1610612760&VsTeamID=1610612760&SeasonType=Regular%20Season&Season=2018-19
Patterson ON: 104 ORtG | 118 DRtG | -14 NetRtG (42 minutes)
Patterson OFF: 94 ORtG | 123 DRtG | -29 NetRtG (44 minutes)
There's like 7 min of lineups in there with neither Patterson nor Grant on there. But I think the difference is pretty glaring regardless.
