So basically a wash on the money but for a better team. If ownership is willing to pay then this is a great move.

Is he any good? He’s been pretty buried in philly.

Can't believe we had to give up a 1st to save $8 million in salary this year + take on more in the future. I liked the deal without that involved, not great with it. But I like Schroder and TLC as players, so there's that. Seems like getting Singler in to save a little by not stretching would've gotten it closer to acceptable, but not sure I care enough to see how that would've needed to work. Sam Presti hates late 1st round picks. Yay for filling out the roster with some talent.

A mid/late FRP doesn't really have a huge impact so I'm not worried. If we're already rebuilding at that point then we'll keep our lottery pick so it wouldn't matter regardless.

Also the Felton signing seems dumb now if the plan isn't to immediately flip Schroder (which I doubt it is given Atlanta's trouble in moving him in the first place).

Depth with proven nba players on the cheap is not dumb

That is true.
But I don't think they mesh well together, no matter which pairing.
But with our coaching staff we might even see a 3-point guard lineup.

So, is Jerami Grant our starting PF now? Can't see Roberson, Adams and Noel all playing at the same time.

If the coaching staff wants to be intelligent for the first time they will start 2Pat and play him 20ish minutes (unless he's on fire) and Grant will get 25-30 between the 3 and 4
Noel is the back-up center

"Cheap" would be a relative term and I assume you could have someone like Dozier for half the cost, which is a reasonably significant deal when you're paying a repeater tax multiplier. If Russ goes down, nothing matters. If Schroder goes down, you have 12-15 mins available. Doesn't seem worth the money to me for a 3rd string PG. Also, is this what Felton signed up for? Seems like he would have options to actually see the floor.

it's a bad deal. sam presti is not only mortgaging the future in terms of the pick but also committing a lot of salary to next year and beyond that was not necessary.
schroder is not a very good player. blowing the tax out of the water the next two years for him was questionable. doing that as well as trading the 2022 first is insane. this is before we even take schroder as a person and teammate into account.

Even though I'm not a huge fan of Schroder, my main concern was going into the season with 34 year old Felton as our 3rd best shot creator. Russ is getting to that point of his career where we need to reduce his load a little bit.

Would like to place a bet on Thunder leading the league in pace. Would be willing to parlay it with bottom-10 3P%.

$11 million TPE as well. If they use that to improve the team, I will go from hate/dislike to like.
