I could see Washington being ok with him if he went in a 3 team deal where Wizards moved Wall. Or in a follow up trade after dealing Wall.

Possible, I don't consider Wall anything of value though.

Me neither, although at some point the Suns or Magic need someone to develop all their players. Really hard to develop rim running bigs, 3 and D players, etc... unless you have someone to get them the ball.

Wall for all of his crap, would allow this to happen.

It’s like Spearsy eleqoently said earlier. It’s all about the cost to find an adequate replacement for Adams. Will we find a center as good as Adams? No way. That doesn’t we couldn’t be a better team by investing our money in a shooting guard.

I wouldn't if I were them. I'd rather Rozier or even a guy like Patty Mills or Darren Collison. Wall reportedly hasn't been good in the locker room, has been hurt, seems questionable with work ethic, and is going to be paid almost the same as Westbrook and Harden when he hasn't ever been close to them as a player. I think irl the Suns might be interested but as someone who kinda follows them I hope they don't.

You are likely correct in that Adams would have to be involved. We do however have a pseudo template for a star player with multiple years left on his deal in Butler.

Lavine, Dunn, pick 7 was what Minnesota got for him, and I think Butler is better than Beal.

er, ok. do we have anything remotely approaching that package on our team?

Wiz arent gonna give up Beal unless its a great deal for them. Theres probably 25 other teams with more to give them than the thunder.

Porter or Wall would be easier to get than Beal.

I agree. I think Porter is likely the odd man out. I think a trade for shorter contracts, with less matching salary, Ferguson, and a second are enough to get Porter.

Basically if the Wizards took back 21 million in salary, for less years than Porter is under contract (2 more years after this one), and Ferguson would likely get things done.

TBH Porter is at least as good a fit as Beal for OKC.

How does he go at playing the 4?

I only know him as a wing defender that got good at 3pt shooting and got paid like everyone else in that 2013 draft when the cap went up.

Think he started at 4 tonight for them.

It's not perfect but BBR has him playing 32 percent of his minutes at the PF.

I believe I read once that he played the four in college. Don’t quote me on that.

Getting porter and keeping Adams is better than giving up Adams to get Beal in my opinion. If Dre was even close to healthy (which is unlikely) that starting lineup is second to the warriors, and it’s close.

washington's best lineup last year had porter at pf. he can definitely play there.

he's a better fit than beal because he's way better and more versatile on defense and it's not like beal would get the ball in his hands a ton to create offense here.

I love Adams SO much but if Beal can give us a chance to contend for the next years...I guess Presti should pull the trigger

it would probably make us worse this year but depending on how much they are willing to spend to find an adams replacement next summer with melo tpe, might be better long term.

the problem to me is that i doubt washington would have any interest in adams for beal. and we have nothing to sweeten that up at all.

This is where trading so many picks for marginal players comes back to bite us. The flip side is it really depends on how other gms view Diallo and Ferguson. When you look at a lot of the recent trades of stars although there have been picks involved, young talent that’s already drafted has been preferred.
