yeah his rim protection could be helpful. Who we cut now though? Not enough roster spots.

I could see a consolidation trade coming soon.

I think Dieng is a guy that Sam will keep around a couple more years, even if he struggles.

Wonder if Sam tries to flip Bertans, Oladipo, and Gay 1 year contracts for a 2 or 3 year mildly helpful player plus assets before the season.

issue is that u need to look at good players on bad teams and they aren't many. Need a rebuilding team to take on those players.

Only Portland in the west is rebuilding right now with some vets and u only have Washington in the East (maybe Chicago soon too)

If Detroit wants to clear some Capspace in 2024 and free up minutes for the young guys we could maybe make a bid for Bojan Bogdanovic. Very good shooter, experienced vet. Could get us some buckets and would provide valuable spacing for two years remaining on his contract.

If I’m Detroit, I want value for him, not to dump him.

Add Tyty and Garuda to that list. Idk how many guys they will be able to carry on the 15 man roster just to stay ready just in case the guy we want comes loose.

This is going to be a very interesting offseason to come. Sam has a lot of work to do, and a ton of assets with which to do it. This is what makes being a Thunder fan such a fun experience. There are a lot of possibilities. Look at the Bulls. They are so limited with what they can do. They are locked into mediocrity. Sam might bungle things, but it'll be a show the whole way through.

yeah way better winning value by the margins than spending 60 millions in cap space for two vets. Imagine what the Rockets could have done the next 3 seasons with that cap space... (I still think they will be fine because Green/Jabari/Amen/Eason and Sengun is strong but such a bad management)

everything about our roster and the makeup and moves make sense if micic is not on the team. his presence is what puzzles me greatly. it is antithetical to the 15-man rotation nonsense it looks like we are going to do again. he didn't sign here to play 1000 minutes.

I agree...maybe Presti signed him knowing there would be movement in the league and that at least one or two teams would be willing to trade for him (I can see Philly being interested after a Harden trade). Denver is another trading spot but no reason for a deal there not being done yet. Utah could make sense too since they lack a true PG.

Micic might end up playing 2-3 months with us though before being traded if he's doing well.

I don't think he will stay but that's the kind of player Presti likes..maybe he will compete with White for a spot.

How long are you going to give him to reach that upside? I don't think anyone had him in the office pool for OKC's solution to needing legitimate big men. I was surprised to see he played over 90% of his minutes at center last year. He's either a dunk or 3pt guy with no mid-range game. His rebounding rates are low for a center. He'd be an interesting piece as the 4th big who gets some playing time to try and develop, but I'm not sure he does anything to upgrade the roster.

I still don't see a starting center on the roster and if you want to argue Chet is the starting center then I don't see a starting PF.
