Even if he doesn't develop a 3 pt shot he can get to the rim and finish. I think he's a cross between Tyreke and Ariza and that doesn't mean the best of each. Brown gets to the rim and finishes along with strong defense, like Tyreke. Brown will need some time to develop a 3pt shot, which Ariza needed 5 years to do. Brown will fight through contact in the lane to get his shot up and then go to the line. Brown will contribute from day one on defense and rebounding as well attacking the rim. Brown will not be a spot up shooter as a rookie and probably shouldn't be expected to have that as any part of his game, consistently, until at least his 3rd year and it might never develop.

As far as his value as a player goes I see Brown being similar to Roberson. He'll make his living with his defense and while he will not be a negative on the offensive end he won't be a big boost to it either. I understand what Presti likes about it. I also understand that he was a reach with much higher upside guys still on the board and while Brown has a higher floor than some of the players I would have taken ahead of him it is because I see it as very unlikely he hits his ceiling and much more likely that those higher upside guys, like Dunn, Murray, Chriss and Hield, hit at least close enough to their ceiling that they end up better than Brown.

I've been pretty disappointed with the realm wiretap headlines lately. they've been extremely click baity and the stories attached have had no substance at all.
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.

Been on vacation and only really able to keep up with the headlines, and they have been pretty terrible as of late. Most of it is 'he said, she said' stuff about KD and Russ, topped off by wiretap creating a whole story called 'Russ sarcastically laughs when asked about Durant'. Slow news week is an understatement. Until Russ comes out and talks about it we won't really know, but that may be a while (or never).

Oh and I do kinda feel bad for Royce, but dude's gotta stop digging himself in deeper holes with this KD stuff.

Speaking of Royce, where's our tell all on Dion Waiters? You know he's sitting on some good stuff on that guy.

After the backlash from the KD story, Royce probably won't do a piece like that again any time soon  I wouldn't be surprised if he eventually does the tell all in the comment section of DT, usually reveals some good stuff in there

3rd PG. Surprised it wasn't someone older. I like that its a PG, but really am surprised there's not a random 40 year old guy they'd find lol.

So...

Westbrook-Payne-Price
Oladipo-Morrow-Abrines
Roberson-Singler-Huestis
Ilyasova-Sabonis-McGary
Adams-Kanter-Collison

I am sort of optimistic regarding Russ extension, think he very well might sign it.

Without a legitimate SF this lineup has to invent something like Warriors smallball to overcome a serious deficiency.

I also favor the idea of using Abrines at starting SF to be able to give him more minutes to speed up the transition. He is actually a SF, just he chokes or fall to traps against veterans like Rudy Fernandez (who annihilated him at last years Spanish finals) but can hold his own against younger guys so Donovan should try him more at SF depending on the opponent SF.

Sabonis also should start ASAP which I think is also the idea of FO. While I am Turkish I cannot overlook the decrease of Ersan's physical play in years due to his playing style. He just needs more rest now so he can throw his 30 year old body onto opponents paths. Skiles has used the best of him as a Bucks but also broke his body with sometimes unnecessary physical defense (like trying to take a charge against guys resembling freight trains).

Kanter will be a beast and twin-tower lineup will do more wonders this year. He just needs to stop using Twitter and move his mind away from political issues. His account was tried to be hacked by Turkish hackers but they couldn't do it so they hacked another Gulen supporter and released his private conversations with Kanter about the latest coup in turkey which has fueled more anger toward him in Turkish public.

The main issue with the roster is that you have 5 guys that are better at C and very little spacing with your wings, it's not easy to solve, since everybody is looking to trade big for small these days.

McGary and Sabonis are pretty much the same guy and if they pan out Kanter becomes a luxury that makes no sense.

The best line-up is going to be Payne-Westbrook-Oladipo-Roberson-Adams

There are no more "cheap wings" in NBA. Wings with 3-pt shooting are like gold. Maybe OKC could trade for Tobias Harris from Orlando for Ibaka and Markieff Morris from PHX during last all-star break but they are gone now. I personally admire Detroit turning Ersan and Jennings into Tobias Harris and betting on Marcus of the Morris brothers as both turned out to be steals. Presti has been too Spurs-centric in his future plans and we can see that it worked as OKC rolled past Spurs but today the threat is not from legitimate big guys but from 3-pt specialists in the order of new league.

Also, McGary won't pan out and Sabonis is A PF.

best lineups
Today: 1st unit: WB-Oladipo-Roberson-Ersan-Adams 2nd unit: Price-Abrines-Huestis-Sabonis-Kanter
In 6 months(hopefully): 1st unit: WB-Oladipo-Abrines-Sabonis-Adams

Payne should be backup PG, but the starters are as oken listed most likely. I'd expect the only big change to be Sabonis swapping in for Ilyasova at some point.

Lack of SF and 3pts shooters are really huge problems :(

I think they're problems but not huge. Roberson is more a SF than SG if we're being honest, he just always played SG because he had to. His size isn't a SG though. With Abrines/Morrow off the bench the shooting should be a bit better, and Dipo is a spacing upgrade to what they had at the 2 starting last year. My concern is the starting PF (especially defensively) and to a lesser extent upgrading starting SF. Though I understand some of the concerns others have too, maybe I'm overly optimistic with the offense. Remember 2 years ago with Russ on his own they still put up about a 111 O for the last stretch of the season, the defense was the issue.
