I'll be honest, I don't think Kevin Love is that good. I thought the cavs should have tried to move him for Cousins. Get a big that can destroy golden state and Lebron can keep boogie in check.

Adams should not be untradeable. I've seen too many games like this first half. Good player, but not worth the money he'll be getting paid next year.

He's still hurting from spacing as much as Russ IMO. And without him the defense is awful.
I keep those 2. The rest whatever.

What would you call our defense now?

It doesn't matter anyways. We couldn't get Mccolum for Vic and Sabonis. They both suck. It's time to hope we miss the playoffs and get lucky in the lottery rather than get beatdown by golden state in the first round. This team is getting worse.

Re: 2017 OKC Thunder Trade Discussion
I wonder how interested Cleveland would be in Roberson/Collison for Shumpert/Liggins(or McRae)? Cleveland gets Roberson who is a defensive stopper and can help slow down Klay Thompson in a Finals match up. Can also switch on to KD. Collison gives them a veteran presence while Presti looks good trying to help Collison grab a ring. Shumpert adds shooting to the starting line up (we slot him at the 3) and we get a scorer off the bench in McRae.
Also, how interested would CLE be in Morrow? They could run a small-ball line up of Kyrie, Korver, Morrow, James, Love.

Re: 2017 OKC Thunder Trade Discussion
This reminds me of the Q&A OKC had before the season
Q. Do you have enough shooting with the NBA going three-point crazy? Does it seem to be a weakness with this roster?
SAM PRESTI: “Well, I think obviously you'd like to have a surplus of everything on any team. And until we see the team and the style of play, until we have the opportunity to identify what the creative limitations are with this particular roster, I think it's going to be really hard to sit back and say we need to have this or we need to have that.
So we'll be able to answer that question. So, yeah, we'd like to have everything. But until we know kind of how this particular team is going to look and evolve, it would be really hard for us to make a judgment on what we do or we don't have.
I do think we have a physicality to us, an athleticism to us, and I think there's a competitive spirit to this particular group that's really fun to be around.
How that comes together and how Billy (Head Coach Billy Donovan) charts the path for us to find and craft our own identity, that's what we're waiting to see.” END QUOTE
Well it is midseason. I think the jury has the verdict. This team can't shoot for ****. Screw athleticism, toughness, competitive spirit and all that other crap that doesn't put the ball in the basket. How about we get people that don't look lost on the court whenever Russ sits. How about guys that will allow Russ and Steven to operate in the paint. I loved when we got Victor at the beginning of the season, but I've reached my threshold. Jerami Grant took 12 shots and Victor took 6. Get on the damn phone Presti. Heads need to roll if this trade deadline passes and this roster is still the same.

If you were a GM which Thunder players would you be willing to trade for? Russ and who else? Adams and Dipo are tough because of their poison pill contracts, but they could be had for a combination of lesser players/salaries with OKC using their TPE from Illyasova. Do you really want to trade one of them for more lesser pieces?

People say that with the new CBA contracts like Vic and Adams aren't that bad. Also that Steven Adams would likely have gotten a max deal. So why are these contracts poison pill?

Well that sucks. I'm just curious why Presti gave Vic a contact that high. He was brought in to be a sixth man. Did he really think he could be more than that? Two of our highest four players are essentially bench players. Obviously KD messed things up but why did Prest think Vic neeeded to be signed to an extension during that time? I don't think the Adams deal hurts near as badly since they obviously aren't trading him.

Not really sure how anyone could be a thunder fan and not understand that presti would never trade nick.

Re: 2017 OKC Thunder Trade Discussion
Steven Adams is shaping up to be the next nick, in my opinion. The front office loves him and he won't be leaving any time soon. I'm not saying that's a bad thing.
As far as trades before the dealine, if we got something like Chandler for Robes and Payne, I would be thrilled. It doesn't make us significantly better but it's one less move we need to do this offseason and it gets rid of two guys that I don't think we need here long term.

Why are people so obsessed with who starts the game? Vic was brought in to play starter minutes while coming off the bench to maximize his touches.

Obsessed? Lol not really. Vic is overpaid for what we're getting. He wasn't expected nor is he capable of being number two option. A sixth man can play extended minutes. That's all I'm saying. We have Russ and two guys that should be about the fourth best option on a really good team. One of those guys, Adams, is unlikely to be traded according to Royce Young. Based upon the intent of this thread, I'm interested in any move that can make us better.

Re: 2017 OKC Thunder Trade Discussion
I honestly don't know what to think regarding Denver. I think they will move gallinari because of his player option, but I don't know how they feel about moving Chandler. If they move Chandler and Gallo, they make holding onto the eighth seed harder. They may not care about this year though, and just want to build around jokic. Im also trying to think of teams that would want oladipo knowing he is a role player at best. I'm really interested how this team plays against New York. New York isn't playing well, but they are also not tanking. If we play the same way against them as we did the Wizards, there should be a fire sale.

Wow Presti robbed the Magic, he got waaaaay more for Ibaka. Plus with Ibaka's age in question being able to get two young guys in Sabonis and Oladipo was great.
