I'd be a bit surprised if we're not involved in helping the Pelicans open up space

I'm guessing the appeal for Lowry is long term money over a chance to win a title. That is a move that a desperate GM makes.

Pelicans draft a generational PF and immediately are in a rush to put a contender around him, where have we seen this before? Hope it goes better than last time, at least they've got a war chest of assets to help out.

giannis is the closest thing we have seen to shaq, since shaq. he's like a version of shaq that fits today's nba. 32/13/5/2 on 65% ts and elite defense in a finals. what a beast. i haven't been this moved by a playoff performance in a long time.

I was happy with either team winning in the finals but once it started I found myself pulling for the bucks. Small market loyalty, I guess.

Still think he'll be back in Phoenix next year due to the money, but this would be great for our pick

Thirteen is a lot better than 29 where they finished this year. There have been a lot of recent years that a pick in the teens would have been really nice to have.

Even 20 is a better and more likely outcome (non home court advantage team)

I don’t believe this but it sure would be nice if things would go our way.

I would be more confident if LA wasn't home for Kawhi :(

Not going to be THAT bad if Kawhi stays though. Dude is a beast and a top 3-5 player but he's so injury prone...

There is an argument to be made that him staying in LA is what’s best for the thunder.

If you think his injury are going to be worse then yes he should be at LAC but he does raise the floor quite a fair bit while tying up capspace etc .

I think at best we are looking at pick number 12-13 if he stays and have an injury riddle season . Basically they made the play in and lost or just barely out of playoff .

George is far from an iron man too. I don’t really believe Reggie Jackson’s playoff performance is who he’ll be moving forward. Also, he’s going to cost a lot more if they keep him.

There will be enough tanking team that they should be out of top 8 basically . More so when they don’t have the most important ingredient to a high pick : desire to try out youth .

True but maybe they’ll be like this years Toronto and find “luck” in the lottery.

I mean when the season comes , I probably wish we will be like the following 2 teams of that season at least but for now just going take it as a mid first to late first type of pick that shouldn’t be moved .

GSW - with min pick
ORL - with Chi pick

Anyone else happy that there’s no leak from the Thunder so far or just worried ?

I doubt we stay and pick all 6picks not even pick at where we are currently in the first round?

In my mind I have Presti already having the framework of what he’s willing to offer and kickstarting on them like 24 hours before the draft and giving team lesser time to pivot or adjust.

Like this is the framework of my offer for you. Do we have a deal or can we work on something ? If it doesn’t get done within a few hours , he just cross it out and move to the rest of his list . Keeping in his mind other teams demand and moving back if we somehow have made a move that can later align with their needs .

And I think he's gotta have a big ass list.

I remember sam saying they had a standing offer with the pacers for the George trade. They held firm and finally Pritchard called and accepted. I'm not sure that it's quite as easy to do the same thing with the draft. There are so many moving parts that it likely gets chaotic.
