I would say right now maybe he can be a poor mans Oladipo.

I'm still going with Corey Brewer just based on the terrible jumper though he may be better in the half court than him. He does get to the rim fairly well which is surprising.

Most have already made up their minds about him. Guessing it’s due to his draft position.

Don't most of us really like him?

Hami’s athleticism and just how he gets his buckets.

His handle would have to improve quite a bit, too.
Said in a thread about which point guards would make OKC better if they replaced Westbrook:

Definitely. His handle isn’t terrible for a rookie though

Not sure I see it. I did see you mention Tony Allen as a possible upside in the Clippers game thread for him though and that I can sort of see just in terms of being an athlete that can get to the rim enough to semi-contribute offensively even if the jumper isn't reliable. Although, that's comparing one of the better wing defenders of the last 15-20 years to a rookie so we probably shouldn't get ahead of ourselves.

Did not mean to post this in this thread. Was supposed to be in the Clippers gamethread.

It really is crazy how well Gallinari plays against us. And going back through his game logs, he definitely brings his absolute best against us. I mean he doesn't do much else other than score, but he's doing it at his highest level this year against us.

In three games against OKC this year, he's averaging 27 PPG on 56.3% FG, 73% 3P (on 5 attempts per game), and 89% FT. His TS% against us this year is 73.7%.

And it's not like we aren't trying to throw everything plus the kitchen sink at him. We've ran through every possible defender we have and it doesn't matter. Force him into tough stepback 18-20 footers and tough, contested stepback threes? Hardly matters. He almost never misses. His five highest scoring games of this season this year are 28 points (OKC), 28 points (Nets), 28 points (Suns), 27 points (OKC), and 26 points (OKC).

With most rookies I just look for the positives and ignore a lot of the negatives. There are a lot of really good players in the league that did nothing for a year or two- Jimmy Butler, CJ Mcollum, Kyle Lowry, Gary Harris, Josh Richardson, Antetokounmpo, Kyle Lowry and others.

I’m not saying either of these guys will be that good but it’s all about potential and development. Even if they peaked at solid two way players, they would still be young enough enough to be part of the next generation of thunder players. If Presti pulls the plug in two years these guys will still be 22-23 years old. If they end up as two way wing players like a RoCo or J Rich, I’m happy as long as Presti doesn’t overpay based on potential.

Diallo has certainly had a lot of moments. Got to give it to him. If he could shoot he'd be really exciting.

It feels like he's stopped even trying, though tbf it's tough to shoot when schroder refuses to pass the ball on the perimeter

It does feel like that. He's so good at getting into the lane and converting layups that he'll drive into traffic sometimes when an open corner three is just right there for the taking.

Return to Oklahoma City Thunder
