I wonder if Atlanta has come off of their asking price a bit. It seemed like they were going for a first rounder a while ago.

From Zach Lowe's piece on the trade deadline:

But the Hawks are asking a lot so far -- a young player and a pick -- and haven't gotten much traction on Prince trades, sources say.

Diallo and lowered protections aren’t terribly far from that.

Hawks are right to ask a lot for Prince. They don't have to trade him right now.

If I am the owner I fire Demps and tell all of these teams to come calling once I know the draft order and who has what picks, Plus, this lets Boston get in the fun.

They have no reason to trade him unless they get someone or something they believe has a higher upside. He is making $2.5M this year and $3.5M next year before being a RFA with a QO under $5M.

If I were Atlanta I'd be trying to move Bazemore and maybe Plumlee. That would give them a lot of cap space this off-season to go with their top 5 pick and Dallas' pick around 11. They could end up in a very nice spot going forward depending on the ping pong balls. They might have trouble getting someone to take their money, but they need a center and throwing a max at Cousins would be a solid idea given what they have and who it looks like they could draft.

I'm starting to worry that we're not going to trade for anybody, and we're just waiting for the buyout like we did last year.

I think many teams aren't willing to trade their assets this year because of GSW being unbeatable (and they probably won't be as good next year) but at the same time that decrease the value of those expiring contracts so I hope Presti can get someone :(
Going to the WCF would still be a great accomplishment...

New Orleans the city is a great city. Basketball wise the city just hasn't really got behind the team. Even with a top 5 player in the league on the team.

I could see that. But, Presti will be waiting to take advantage of certain situations. Miami and Washigton need to get off money to get under the lux tax, moves both teams must do as they fight for the 8th playoff spot. Miami will be willing to give up Ellington for nothing, but it also can't take back salary. If Washington can get off of Markeiff's $8.6 million it could take back $2.8 million.

Would Indiana be willing to part with guys like Tyreke Evans, Bojon Bogdanovic, and or Darren Collison now that they have lost Oladipo.

Are there teams out there that want to match NYK's two max spots in free agency this year. Do the Clippers want to trade Gallinari? If they could they could easily create TWO max slots if they Trade Gallo before the deadline and rescind the rights to Harris and cut Bradley. If I am the Clippers I have some guys on 1 year deals that could make sense for teams for the playoff run like Grotat, Bradley, Beverley. and LMAM.

How far are you going? Top 5?

If I was convinced Russ would play like he used to, I would do top five or even higher.

Don't get why the Pelicans aren't trying for Zubac instead of 2 more picks
