Team Bouknight

I think #6 is probably too high but I would love him at #16 or maybe a little higher if we package 16/18. He's obviously a big time bucket getter but I could see him leveraging that scoring ability down the road to make plays for others. I like his quick acceleration and we could use that tbh. Not many speedsters in the guard spot for OKC right now.

Vecenie has him at 7. I think pick 10 is about as low as you could reasonably go and still get him

ESPN has him at 14. Don't think it's unreasonable they could trade up.

Speaking of Ford, this is the Moody wingspan pic he mentioned on the podcast.

My guess is Bouknight and Moody both guy higher than I would like for us to be able to get them after the sixth pick.

It feels like it’s becoming a top 6 draft with 4 tiers…
1-Cade
2-Green/Mobley
3-Suggs
3 or 4-Barnes
4-Kuminga

There’s a certain stage of the draft that somehow Barnes join Kuminga in a separate tier from the rest of the 6-10 pax. Do you guys know which interview or event trigger that ?

This has been a 5 man draft at the top since the start with Kuminga locked at 5 and the way I see it now there’s a small chance (non zero but still not significant) that Suggs could be 6. And this is before banking on teams doing a Cavs and picking someone out of nowhere.

In short , if it’s cost marginal prices I’m ok to move from 6 to maybe 4. I’m more interested to move up from 16/18 to 10ish or maybe get another pick around 12 .

That's how I feel. Badly wanted Cade or Green but we can't afford it and this draft is pretty stacked at 6-14 with some great talent.

Not gonna be easy to move from 16+18 to 10 though.

My dream scenario would be 18 + 35 + Williams for 14 (Golden State could use Williams) and 16+36+ Denver or Miami FRP for pick 10 or 11 (small chance Hornets/NOLA would try to improve ASAP and a future FRP could help them). Or maybe we would have to take on Bledsoe's contract.

Picking 6, 10 and 14 would be crazy good.

I wonder if future stash is good enough to bring 16 & 18 to 9-12 range.

I'm sure it is. Every team has their price and 9-12 aren't exactly generational level players. I listened to the Thunder locked on podcast and Bouknight declined to say which teams he had spoken with. He made the comment that he feels like he is a much better facilitator than he showed at Uconn. None of that means much but at least he's aware of his weaknesses.

I think the cost to move up both picks from 16/18 to 9-12 will be a lot cheaper than trying to jump into the top 3 from 6.

Considering we have a fair bit of holes and whoever we draft will get enough playing time I’m ok to take 3 stabs at the draft this time around . Just give me more time to watch videos of whoever we pick and believe that it’s better than whoever we get at 3rd pick.

At this stage unless a player says something dumb I’m fairly ok with whatever they says , they just need to put in the work once drafted.

Pretty much. Shai alongside some really good role players would be a fun watch. Probably not winning any titles but a young playoff team that is still loaded with assets would keep me excited.

I've never been able to take Ford too seriously after the changing old mock drafts scandal. I still see where he has people but he's somewhat a clown.

I don't see any way Houston doesn't take Jalen Green. Just really think that's their guy regardless if Cade falls.

Where is everyone on this Sengun kid? Looks short for a supposed 6'10" guy? I know everyone wants the next Jokic, but this dude looks like his mini-me.

I really wish he had come to the combine to get measured.

He just seems like he fits in houston better than Mobley, in my opinion. Maybe I’m just convincing myself of that since I like Mobley and maybe Cleveland would make a trade.

High talent ball-handling guards scoring impact the current meta of the NBA more than high talent bigs... unless you have a high talent ball-handling scoring guard, which we do in SGA. Mobley is better for us than Green, Green is better for Houston than Mobley.

Yeah same. He's a high-scoring guy who will fill seats and sell tickets for Fertitta but keep them bad so they get another crack at Bates or whoever the next year.

Not sure where he's from but it's weird how he pronounces "measure" as well (MAY-zhurr)

I’m buying the production but I can’t see how he could have produced as much as he did the way that he’s build.
