But why did we take the option of Roby's contract for another year and one week later we wave him

Surprised about this.

I didn't want Roby for the future anyway but thought he had some trde value (not high value but still)

If Sam had drafted Roby and traded for Maledon, I think we would see the opposite happening. I’m a Presti supporter but i think he’s a bit too partial towards his own selections.

Maledon has to be the Next gone, or they pick up the team option too?

that really sucks. out of all players in this PF/C logjam, he's the one I was expecting to fit Chet the best. also, too many players ahead of him on my axe list.

the worst part about it that it probably means FO and c. staff rate Bazley way too high.

44% shooter. maybe he was viewed as a C only player.

I think they were hoping to trade him or Favors/ Green somewhere. He will probably get picked off waivers.

With drafting JWill and Chet and bringing back Muscala the numbers were against him to return.

Bazley is just a couple of months older than Keegan Murray. Let’s let him compete with this young guys. He did a decent job at protecting the rim at the end of the year. But I think the jury is still out on Bazley.

Yeah one last season of Bazley...just hope we don't pay him if he doesn't significantly improve

I'm already prepared for Roby to get signed to a minimum deal by a decent team like Golden State or Milwaukee where he's got a role and is surrounded by stars and to actually look decent. He's got the skills and physical tools along with low price tagg to make that a distinct possibility.

Agree with this. It extends not just to his draft picks but also to guys he's given a contract. Best example is Perkins. Dude played here for multiple seasons, mostly long after it was obvious he was spent.

Long ways off, but I love the idea of OKC offering big money to Wiggins in 2023. Culture fit, brings a elite - versatile defender, cant hit the 3, cuts well for SGA / Josh passes - this looks good to me:

G - SGA / Tre Mann / ???
G - Lou Dort / Jalen Williams / ???
F - Andrew Wiggins / Kenrich Williams / Osumane Dieng
F - Josh Giddey / Jaylin Williams / ???
C - Chet Holmgren / JRE / Mike Muscala

Above is more the positions they defend than play on offense - I am a big proponent of Giddey moving down to guard PF, think he can be best used there and negates alot of footspeed issues against the elite SF athletes.

I’m not opposed to Wiggins, but this lineup isn’t real long. I think the benefit of putting giddey on the 3 is that it gives you the opportunity to have another 6’10-7’0 dude with a huge wingspan out there at PF. Chet/Williams/Poku/dieng/FA. Whoever rises to the top. Perhaps giddey isn’t best at guarding SF, but the length you get from having him at 3 and an even longer dude at 4 makes up for it.

And I’m hopeful that Santa Clara Williams will put dort on the bench by next year as well, which adds additional length to the lineup, along with improved offense.

I want no part of Wiggins. I don't want to take away his credit but GSW system is a key factor on how he's performing and he won't get so many open 3's in OKC...his value is too high now compared to the player he's.

Exciting stuff is that we should have around 57 millions in salary cap in 2023-2024 (likely close to 50 after adding another lotto pick prospect). Lot's of options to explore.

Myles Turner would be another option. Assuming 30mpg that leaves 18 for Chet as the BU C w/ 12-14 at PF.

Certainly checks the box for length and shooting. 48mins of Turner and Chet defending the rim is unfair.

He’s much more appealing than Wiggins.

The spurs shooting coach , chip engelland, is now available . Presti should be making him a more than decent offer with where we are with shooting

I agree we need a shooting coach very badly.
