with that bull interview demeanor and this level of play in two straight semifinals, if the thunder don't knockout nuggets and he keeps playing like this, i'll start to bang the drum for jdub to play in milwaulkee next season.

Re: 2024-2025 OKC Thunder Games Thread
season on the line tonight...can't say I'm not nervous.
Shai said after game "we are gonna find out what we're really made of" which is 100% true but I'm not sure I will like to find out.

I understand the concern but let's give it at least until the end of game three before we start dismantling the team. We were due for this loss. The team has looked a bit more uninspiring since game one. Seems like normal complacency. I'll never understand it but this type of play is as old as sports. If we lose tonight, I'll be much more concerned.

That guy didn't watch the Dallas series last season. That being said I hope SGA is gonna be more consistent...he had an incredible first quarter and a good 4rd quarter but he was pretty meh in between.

yeah you are right but we gotta win it tonight no matter what (even if we show the sames issues than game 1).
There's a world our team was lacking rythm and is going to play way better tonight. It's also a possibility that the game winner killed the only confidence this team had and we are toasted.

Re: 2024-2025 OKC Thunder Games Thread
I learned a long time ago that a series isn’t over until it’s over. I knew people would make declarations after the first game regardless of how it played out. I thought we looked poor. Perhaps we were a bit nervous? I don’t know. But I do know that we had a lot of opportunities to close that game out just the same and we seemed to find the only way to finish it out that ended in a loss. If we play the way we played for the large majority of the season, we will be fine. Denver didn’t really have answers for us. Their scheme involved leaving guys open regularly, so if we make open shots, the offense will be fine. At the other end, they are obviously capable, but they are also very thin. I’m still quite confident, but there are seldom easy outs once you get to the second round and we can’t afford to throw games away.

i agree with you and i'm also a believer in variance. and the thunder can and should steamroll them for the rest of the series.
but i just saw last game the exact same **** we all saw in last dallas series. i think we dealt a lot better with heliocentrism of a genius passer than last year, ok, but;
the absolute same behaviour of giving up playing defense for a fouling strategy that maybe would make sense if you're inferior or doesn't have a playmaking defense. the same reluctance to get out of autopilot.
what i saw different this series from dallas last season: daigneault being conceited and jdub's arrogance. and i'm pissed

I expected more from Hartenstein tbh so I hope he shows up tonight. No clue why people are complaining about Chet that much and not Hartenstein because he was by far the worst of the two. I guess I underrated Zubac work on Jokic and I know we can't really guard Jokic but Hartenstein should still do a better job.

Two facts
1- Joe has a higher playoff 3pt% than Robert Horry.
2- Josh Giddey has a higher playoff 3pt% than Wiggins.
Give me more Joe and keep Wiggins on the bench. Joe had a couple of 0 for games last playoffs and always rebounded. Wiggins has never
Wiggins can attack the paint and he can create his own shot. He also can defend a little bit. At this point I'm not sure if I want to give JDub or Wiggins the ball to create and make a shot. Isaiah Joe can ONLY shoot 3's. Is he elite at it? Of course and that's the reason why I didn't want to include him in a trade at the deadline because a team that has a midrange god like Shai needs good 3 pts shooters but he choked last playoffs and he looked scared of the moment again yesterday.
KIZZ I DON'T CARE IF U TALK *** ABOUT PRESTI BUT WIGGINS SAVED BASKETBALL SO I HOPE YOU LEARNED IT.

the less fouls we make, the faster the game is and the better it is for us...sometimes rather let Jokic do his magic.

Using their entire career isn't an adequate sample size for comparison? I guess we just never have the data to compare players. You might as well claim we can't believe SGA is better than Cole Anthony due to lack of sample size. Using their entire careers for comparison is clearly lacking in sample size.

Wait...I thought I was supposed to be the one who didn't understand sample size. What in the name of recency bias is this?

Re: 2024-2025 OKC Thunder Games Thread
Guys played a great game. JDub and Chet were much more decisive and focused.
Ofc, it's unrealistic to expect such a great shooting again. But it's important to move the ball and have as many as possible screens for Shai.

Nuggets gonna play well in game 3. Gotta be able for the challenge and be great in the 4th quarter if it's a close game.
I don't understand anything about basketball if Jwill is the X factor of this series.
I liked what Wiggins brought in the second quarter...another "scorer" on the floor.

this could be the easiest path to a championship for the next 10 years if somehow Boston isn't able to comeback from 0-2 and the Nuggets are currently our biggest threat to achieve that because of that stupid game 1 meltdown.

Denver just need to protect home court , it’s on the guys to go there and steal one .
Have been on holiday so I didn’t get to watch either game . Still on holiday until the 12 local time so that’s 13 May for you guys .

I was thinking this exact same thing.
Last night was a 'back on track' night, and felt especially good after the CLE and BOS game 2s. Let's go!!
