Regardless of the player drafted this year, Presti should go for a veteren big with good D this summer. The last games proved that we need some good bigs to succeed and we can't put everything at chets shoulders.

Kyle Anderson would be such an ideal fit at PF. Wish he was closer to 26 rather than 29. If he was 26, I would do a straight up Dort swap for him.

Not a rim protector but otherwise an elite multi positional defender who moves the ball tremendously well, plays with low usage and has regained his 3PT shot this year (Albeit on low volume).

Evan at 29, Dort for Kyle and Moore works - would depend on how Presti saw Moore as a prospect last draft I suppose.

My worry is that we just draft someone and then hope for organic growth from the roster.

As for Hawkins, where are the minutes? Ya, OKC needs another shooter but IDK, with SGA / Jalen / Dort / Joe at the G spots he would not get much run. I guess if Dort is moved maybe, but I still dont see them moving him. I think Presti sees him as that elite POA defender you want in the PO's to attack the opposing teams best guard/wing.

Hopefully Dort naturally is given even less usage next year. He should be at 14-16%, this year he is near 20 after being at 23 the year before. He needs to be gradually molded into the specialist type player he is. He should be at DFS levels of usage.

That was sort of what I was thinking... Moving Dort.

Jarace Walker/Taylor Hendricks is who I'd really like because either of those two with Chet would complete the front court. But I don't think OKC can get high enough for either. We'll see.

Would you take a first round pick (15-20) for Isaiah Joe?

No. Let me know if you’d fancy a Dort, though.

If we aren’t using capspace , I’m open to this .

Just to draft and stash . Or trade 19 for a future first .

If Cleveland fizzles out in the 1st round like it looks like they're going to, maybe they'd be open to dealing Jarrett Allen to unclutter their frontcourt, and we have assets to meet whatever need they have.

Allen makes 20m a year for the next several years and just turned 25yo. He'd fit well in terms of positional need, and also in terms of age of the roster.

Yeah, I could see something here. 3rd team gets a couple firsts, Cleveland gets a 3 and D forward (and probably another OKC pick and let' s say Jaylin Williams to be a backup big) and OKC gets Allen.
Where's the D?

Open question. What’s the max you’d trade for Allen? I really dig that fit. Obviously could be a 3 team trade so we don’t have to worry about Dort’s fit in Cleveland.

I need to see Giddey/JDub improving their 3pt shooting before giving up assets for a 20 millions big that can't shoot. I love Allen but I'm really worried about our lack of outside shooting.

I feel that. I think that defense would be nasty and long, though. Shai, jdub, giddey, Allen, and Chet. There would be deflections, steals, and blocks for days. They’d be RUNNING. You’re right that shooting would be a problem. I’d make the trade, give chip a raise and hope for the best.

yeah u right. I like the idea of Allen in OKC but I think we need to fix our biggest flaw first. It's just too easy for a good team to defend on us right now... zone defense and let Giddey/Dort open for 3. Gotta build around Shai in a similar way the bucks did with Giannis since they both basically live in the paint.

but yeah if Chet is shooting well and our guys improve from outside, that would be a nice addition. I wouldn't take the gamble just now.

I think it’s irrevelant though .
Cavs will see what a change of coach , MLE wing and another year of Mobley improvement bring them before they trade Allen.

If Detroit wins the Wembanyama sweepstakes, they will have a few spare bigs to possibly trade for.

They already have four bigs on the roster. I think it's more likely Weaver doubles down and outbids us on a FA big than trades one of his own.

If Detroit gets the first pick in the draft, won’t they take Wembanyama? If they have Wembanyama on their roster, would they keep everyone?
