Any idea who the magic prefer? Any reliable trade rumors involving Orlando?

I have no clue. I assume they'll pick between Barnes and Kuminga. From what Weltman said at the Mosley's introductory press conference, I think they're leaning towards Barnes. He said you are who you are when you come into the league, and right now Kuminga looks very raw and possibly a little immature.

Not much of a shock, but Hammond said on a podcast that #5 would be BPA while #8 would be more positionally suited. Would be surprised if Bouknight made it past them at 8.

Could this change if we leak that Kuminga makes his bed in the morning?

Orlando probably gonna pick Barnes because they believe he's the BPA but it's not crazy to think that there's a chance Kuminga may still be available at 8 and they can draft both (unlikely but can happen, while Barnes won't fall at 8)

If you want something beyond your typical daft projections, this is definitely different.

Trying to make sense of 'you are who you are when you come into the league' which is either a truism about character or, if talking about skill set, the most idiotic thing I've ever heard regarding the draft.

I wonder how much truth there is to this healthy ankle with Springer. If so, that really makes him much more appealing.

Read on Twitter

Draft buzz finally starting to come out. Small Thunder blurb here from KOC:

"League sources say the Magic are high on Florida State forward Scottie Barnes with the fifth pick, while the Thunder prefer Barnes or UConn guard James Bouknight with the sixth selection.

Jonathan Kuminga, ranked fifth on most big boards after playing one season in the G League alongside Green, has been scarcely mentioned in league circles as a favorite to be selected by Orlando or Oklahoma City."

Bouknight scares me almost as much as Kuminga, don't love that but both have pretty high ceilings.

It seems like at worst, Bouknight will be a good scorer off the the bench which should allow him to stay in the leauge. Kuminga is one of those guys that could flame out completely or be the best player in the draft. It sucks that there doesn't feel like a more sure option at number six.

Okay so basically it's gonna be almost impossible to move up (cleveland was our most likely trade partner) and we are gonna pick between bouknight and Kuminga.

I'm REALLY scared about Kuminga being a bust but at this point I would still gamble and pick him...

No idea how they are getting extra picks (other than trading Sexton obviously)

Either that or it's a bluff and three might available for the right price.

I'm at the point where I think I'd rather us take the home run swing at 6, whoever they think that will be. We're going to be bad again next year regardless of who we pick. I am surprised Barnes is getting such a serious look by the Magic, he doesn't seem to fit with their current crop of players at all. They're going to have worse spacing than us somehow.

Fair enough but Isaac is so injury prime that you still take BPA and Barnes may be that guy. They will have a nice choice of guys that can shoot/score at 8.

Also leaning towards keeping 6 and move up something like 16 to 9-10 and 18 to 14.

Then move up 35 & 36 for 31 and pick Vrenz before the Knicks :)

Not sure Presti is willing to select 3 players in the first round and 4 overall though

Besides Kuminga, who else is there that you consider a home run swing?
