Re: Serge Iblocka
If he wants to be an NBA starter he has to learn not to foul so much, and he has to learn to calm down a bit and don't rotate / help every single time. He needs experience to be able to make situational decisions. Hopefully he gets to play in summer league again.
I think those numbers are reasonable projections but he'd need ~30MP to get there.

Re: Serge Iblocka
I think 12pts, 10rebs and 2blocks are attainable for Serge is he gets 30minutes.
Mostly I'd like to see Serge come back with a nice little jump hook.
He's long and can jump so high, he can simply elevate over everyone.
Actually I'd be happy if he came back with any back to the basket post move.

He's going to be a starter in this league for a very long time ... I think he'll claim a starting job at some point next year and never look back.

I don't think they'd give him up for Krystic and the #21. I think they would want Harden or Green.
No thanks.

If he plays 28-30 mpg, which i think will happen not later than december, those numbers are quite possible, even a couple more ppg.
BTW It has been rumored recently that Serge could acquire the spanish citizenship and play for the national team, and he has admitted that he'd like to in some interviews and chats. I don't think as early as to play this year in the world championship anyway.
If you want to try to measure the elements of basketball that are supposedly unmeasurable, spend a game just watching Marc Gasol.

Wolves Mod here.
I give your front office a lot of props for the risk it took with Ibaka. Not drafting just him, but also taking gambles with Swift, Petro, and Sene. That "type" of player was seen as a need and a gamble and your team took it multiple times and now have the perfect #3 athletic big man that could become a defensive specialist starter.

Re: Serge Iblocka
Current front office had nothing to do with drafting those previous players and those players were nothing like Ibaka as a prospect.

Maybe the current office could get props for gambling on Mullens?
I expect Ibaka to get no less than 10, 10 & 2 next year.

Re: Serge Iblocka
Eleqrtique,
I am not well versed in your front office employment. But as a pre-draft prospect Ibaka was almost the same as Sene. Petro and to the less extent Swift were very similar as well.
Can you take a compliment sir?

Re: Serge Iblocka
Robert Swift was more highly touted than Serge Ibaka at the time they were drafted. If we didn't take Robert Swift at #12, Boston would have undoubtedly taken him at #15. The Warriors were also rumored to be interested at #11.
Serge Ibaka was universally mocked somewhere at the bottom of the first round. #24 was actually a bit of a reach for him. It was a great pick...

Nice team..
You guys have a real nice team and it has become my second favorite after NY. I'm not sure you need anything other than experience. You seem to be "this" close. I also really like the way your team is built on your own players rather than buying them. I'm not a fan of the summer shopping spree....
good luck to the future WC champs...

Re: Serge Iblocka
I did say Swift "to a less extent" but the mentality and the risk involved with Sene and Petro were similar to Ibaka. You guys deserve props for taking that risk.

Re: Serge Iblocka
I'll tell ya now... Presti did his HW, because if you watched Ibaka, he wasnt similar to the list of scrubs the Sonics drafted. Dude is still miles away from his full potential, as he can handle pretty well for a PF too. What a freaking steal.

Re: Serge Iblocka
So 7 games in Ibaka is getting 29minutes a game.
10.7pts, 8rebs, 2blks. .604fg% .895 ft%. ZERO assists for the season. Good guess to the OP
Great FG and FT percentages. I think we might see a bump in points as the season gos on. But I don't know if we will see his boards go up much.
Considering he is always trying to block the shot, that takes him out of position for the defensive rebound. Fortunately he is a decent offensive rebounder. But I just don't know if he is going to go up much from 8 because he is always going for the block. But at least Collison and Aldridge should be able to gobble up the altered shots Ibaka creates.

Re: Serge Iblocka
He's shown some improvement as a man defender, though he's not there yet. He's a little smarter about when to help and when not to, but he still struggles with spacing especially when he's the biggest guy on the court.
He's definitely a lot better than I would have imagined a couple seasons ago and will probably be a starter in the NBA for awhile if he keeps it up.

Couldn't agree more. If Brooks keeps on giving him minutes, then he will turn out good.
