Lebron James

Post#1 » by Durantist » Fri May 14, 2010 10:20 am

When was the last time did a MVP have the chance to team up with another top 3/future MVP/scoring title champ/GOAT potential player?
These were the words of James after the game 6 loss: "First of all I want to win. And I mean, that's my only thing; that's my only concern."
Lets get real! OKC have the contracts and cap room to land Lebron. Seriously, Lebron and Durant on the same team? Now that's not winning, that's more like cheating.

No, thank you!

I wont even start listing you the reasons why this will never happen.

Lebron doesn't care about winning championships. He won't play for the Thunder. He'd rather go play for a bottom of the barrel team like the Knicks and instead make money on endorsements.

I think if Championships were the sole motivation for LeBounced OKC would be a "possible" option.

I heard a guy speaking on the radio how New York isn't the biggest market but that China is the biggest market.

He said they have 300 milion people playing hoops in China that is the entire US population. He also said that Nike gave Kobe a new shoe release during the Olympics because Kobe has all the rings and apparently the Chinese value championships far more than simply being spectacular.

So I guess if Lebounced wants to play in the biggest US market, NY would be where it's at. But if LeBounced truely want to be a global icon it's all about championships.

Now that being said does anyone really think Lebounced would go to a smaller market like OKC?

Look I can see a little Tim Duncan in Durant. I don't see any Tim Duncan in LeBounced.

All agreed. But I'm gonna indulge my imagination for a few seconds anyway :)

The Thunder would probably need to, at a minimum, package a small contract and their 1st rounders in order to create and maintain the space needed to sign LeBron outright. Here's a larger deal, though, that would accomplish this while procuring a quality low post scorer:

Harden/Krstic/Collison/#21/#26/#32 for Al Jefferson/#16

Not sure who to take at #16, probably just best player available since the lineup would already be stacked:

Westbrook/Maynor
Durant/Sefolosha
Lebron
Ibaka/Green
Jefferson/Mullens

That's a crazy good lineup.

Lebron won't be in OKC because he doesn't really care about winning titles, and that is in part why he will never be considered the greatest of all-time. He doesn't have a real desire to win; he'd rather line his pockets and play gangsta.
