Thunder Offseason Trade Speculation

I know theres a lot of these. but i feel like maybe we need some posts up in the thunder board, it depresses me to see things from like february still in the first page..

anyway. chances are were not going to move any of the starters from last year or James Harden because of the teams success and those guys still have room to grow. Were not sure if bennett is willing to spend to build a championship team or if he is just trying to build a perennial winner ( big difference )

Do you guys think we try to get an FA? or maybe move up in the Draft and take a top 5 guy? or just take guys other teams dont want and strenghten our roster like the Maynor Trade( most likely approach)

I have a Feeling the Thunder are trading up into the Top 10! With three picks in the first #32 picks plus guys like Mullens, White, and Weaver who hover around making a million a year. Plus, we can take salary back.

With a Rotation of Durant, Westbrook, Green, Harden, Ibaka, Maynor, and Thabo, PLUS

Collison and Kristic in the last year of their contracts. The Thunder are going to need to add a Big or two that they can insert in their rotation.

Teams like: (w/ bad Contracts)
Phila (Brand- doubtful the Thunder take a waiver on him though)
NJ (Humpries and Dooling- If they can move these two they can sign LBJ and Wade - Imagian them with Lopez and Harris in the East) - This would be EXTREAMLY Interesting*
Sacramento (Fransico Garcia 3 years left $17 left)
Golden State (Biedrins- [they will not get value for him though], and Radmanovich)
Indiana (Murphy, Dunleavy, Ford and Foster are all in their final year of their contract)
New Orleans (Okafor, Stojakovic, West)

Remember if the Thunder trade for any of these players to draft a Cousins, Favors, or Monroe, they will not have enough money to go out and get a David Lee, Bosh, Amare or a Boozer in free agnecy (most will say they is not going to happen any way)

* Say the Nets and Thunder make a draft Day trade that would Gurantee the Nets the cap room to sign two MAX free agents. Right now the Nets have 8 players on their roster If they trade Dooling and Humphries they will be able to sign thoes guys. Plus they wont have to give a big contract to the #3 pick. Now the Thunder can offer a whole lot for #3 overall, Humphries, and Dooling. (Humphries and Dooling would be solely just for the Money) They could start their offer with their first three draft picks #21, #26, and #32. (The Nets have #27 and #31 as well) That would give the Nets 11 players (if they pick up the option on CDR) before free agency started). To sweten the Deal the Thunder can add first round picks in 11' and 12'. The Thunder can take Favors or Cousins (Cousins wouldbe my choice) with the pick and have a rotation of:

Cousins/ Kristic/ Mullens
Ibaka/ Collison/ White
Durant/ Green/ (Pick #51 DeSean Butler, cut Humphries)
Harden, Thabo/ Weaver
Westbrook, Maynor/ Dooling

There are not that many teams with cap room that are willing to make a trade and miss out on free agency. Sammy is a guy who likes to draft his guys. This trace is very far fetched, but if the Nets want to sign their two max guys this might be one of their only options.
If the Nets do make the pick, I am sure we could get #27 and #31 from them if we took on a Keyon Dooling...

cousins may be a risk for example (character issues) chemistry is important it's not worth throwing the ship off course for a project player 6 11 @290 is not good and he has a high bfp index needs conditioning

What is bfp?

I don't think selling the farm is moving any total of draft picks this year or the next two years. The Thunder picks will continue to b in the 20's and for 3 million dollars u can buy that pick.

Personally I like that trade scenario, but I would much rather Favours on this team. I'm just not sold on Cousins and everything you hear about him is negative. I don't want a guy like him to come in a blow the strong chemistry this team shares into oblivion.

What options do we have of getting the #5 pick and potentially Monroe. Anything remotely possible?

# 5 is SacTwn. I think they take Monroe or Cousins. They will have a very good front court w/ one of them plus Landry, Thompson, and Sammy D. Picks one through 4 will b Wall, Turner, Favors, n' Johnson.

Which means @ 6 Monroe or Cousion will be avail if we take on Vladimir Radmovitch's contract. That right there might not be a bad option.

When it's all said and done I'd definitely take Cousins, but I just hope his attitude isn't as bad as it seems. If we could snag the 5th or 6th pick that would be fantastic. Otherwise if we got the 6th pick, Monroe would be very welcome here.

ESPN has a nice OTL on Cousins.

My number one off-season move is still acquiring David Lee.

Getting Cousins would be my second choice if acquiring Lee isn't in the plans.

What about giving Kevin Love a look for Jeff Green? That'd give the Thunder a good sized scoring 4 that can rebound and shoot the 3. It gives the Wolves a 3 that isn't Ryan Gomes.
