Wall> Westbrook

Post#1 » by DubaLakers » Thu Jun 24, 2010 7:02 pm

Some Draft Expert that was just on Rome said John Wall was a sure #1 pick, then he said he's better than Westbrook.

These morons will never learn that offense isn't the end all be all. Westbrook would lock him up and then what would you say draft expert?

I haven't seen Wall play much, but I'd gather from what I've seen...

He's cocky, he's slight, he's bball smart, but looks like he could be inclined to party more and play basketball less, he's got a nice mid range jumper as well, and great form.

Westbrook is maybe the fastest player in the NBA, he's built like a track star, he's tough, he's athletic, he's strong, he jumps out of the gym, and he works, Durant and him are going to win a championships together hopefully, taking the reigns from the Lakers after the next few years and keeping LBJ from a title. Management would be the only one preventing them from a LOB.

Anyway I just don't understand why they'd give a raw kid like Wall so much love, when he hasn't shown he's a can't miss guy, yet they think he sure is. Better than Westbrook, please, he couldn't even beat West Virginia, that had a physical dominant left handed backup pg schooling him over and over again that averaged less than 5 points a game but dropped 20 something on Wall if I remember right.

projected number 1's always get hyped to an insane degree

we'll see what happens when they both hit the court next year, walls first year will probably be better than westbrooks first but he improved fast

Wall is too out of control. In that game against west Virginia in the NCAA tournament, he got 5 turn overs and they were because he tried to fast break on his own and lost the handle because he was going to fast.

typical mediot BS. how can wall be better when he hasn't played one single game. physically they are similar...wall is 1/2" taller, 1.5" wings longer...westy showed better pg skills in college, and their shooting is close. i'll take ben howland's players playing perimeter D over any other player. westy in fact was dedicated to playing D as a matter of pride and loved that "p10 Dpoy award".

here's what i can guarantee,,,no one works harder than westy, absolutely no one.

Wall might end up being better than Westbrook but can tell you right now I would not trade Westbrook for him.

I know what I have in Westbrook and he gives me exactly what I want out of a PG (except turnovers).

I know Westbrook is going to be a total stud. Maybe Wall will be better but I don't "KNOW" that.

Seriously man? You have 11 posts and you bring up Rose in a conversation between Wall and Westbrook? We have had tons of Westbrook v Rose threads.

Who is this guy?

WTF are you talking about. Maybe you should actually read a thread before commenting on it.

"lol wut"

Westbrook's PG skills are arguably the second-weakest aspect of his game - from best to worst, Westbrook's skills are defense, slashing/penetrating, passing/distributing, shooting. He's improved at all of those obviously, but Westbrook was not a great pure PG in college.

I said on the draft board that Westbrook does everything Wall does and does it better. I love Wall. Westbrook IMO would have gone 1 or 2 in this draft now that we have seen him at PG.

They're both really athletic, both have shooting issues, both can be (are) good defenders.

Wall definitely has the edge in PG skills coming out of college.

Wall will probably be better but won't have much of an advantage when matched up against Westbrook.

I agree.

Westbrook is way overrated, he can't pass or can't shoot and he only dominates old guys like Fisher.

Bulls fan here. The wall hype is feverish atm, and pretty idiotic. Better than Westbrook, pffft. They have also been saying he is faster on the court than Rose. Pffffft.

Please Beat LA.

Maybe they could let Wall play a professional game before they start throwing around that comparison. I think Westbrook is a beast, personally, who is only going to get better.
