Y no OKC 4 CP3

I'm sure by now you have heard that CP3 wants out of NO.

Looks like NY, Orlando, LA, Dallas, and even rainy Portland are on his rumored wish list.

Why no OKC? After all he was the man in OKC long before Durant. He knows all about their rabid fans.

OKC has a great front office. Great pieces to make up a trade with. I would think
Westbrook is better than anything NY can afford to lose.

He said he loved playing in OKC right.

So what gives?

All I can think of us that maybe OKC really isn't that desirable of a place to play and live?

I have never lived there so I don't really no how great it is or isn't.

But looking at how OKC is set up to compete for the next seven years or so and to not even get a mention makes me think OKC is going to have a brutal time attracting free agents.

OKC should stick with Westbrook. He is a up and coming HEALTHY top pg and fits well in OKC. And i dont think you can get CP3 for westbrook.. i guess NOH would want one of Green, Harden or Thabo.

The team that gets CP3 has to take on Okafor's contract. The Hornets would want Green, Westbrook, and Ibaka. No Thanks! Team is set to make runs for the Chip for years to come.

You missed my point. Its not about what the Hornets want. Its about what CP3 wants. Or in this case what he doesn't "want".

I disagree with you wiff. It doesn't matter what CP3 wants. He can't force the Hornets to trade him to a specific team for less than ideal packages.

Chris Paul isn't going to New York. They don't have the pieces to acquire him. NOH isn't just going to give him away for nothing just because he's being a crybaby.

He doesn't have OKC on his list IMO because he recognises that RW is a on the rise PG and has a great relationship with KD, he doesn't want to go to a situation where he could become a bit expendable.

I"ll disagree with you Slick. Paul has apparently made a trade demand and given a list of desirable teams in which he would like to go. The Hornets can trade him as they please, but any team giving market value for Paul and purportedly taking on extra contract needs to know that Paul will stay and play his best. This gives Paul added leverage to dictate his terms.

The best players always have more leverage in dictating their terms.

In terms of the list of teams, I'm not sure how much stock you can put into it at this point. There are the usual suspects who are always mentioned but there could be others. If Paul truly wants to join a team with another superstar then OKC should be on the list regardless of Westbrooks presence.

There is some leverage but CP3 can't just pick the team he wants to go to. The Hornets have to get what they feel is the correct value for him, or he's not going anywhere. So if CP3 wants to go to NYK then he's SOL.

Slick you really don't think Presti could come up with a package that would be fair value for Paul?

Presti has like 19mil in expirings, picks and legit young talent.

If you can get CP3 for Westbrook/Ibaka/Green, you definitely have to do that. That's a big time statement and confidence booster to KD and for CP3, you're getting a top 5 superstar and a great front office, it doesn't get any better than that.

I wouldnt do that ... For all we know, Westbrook could supplant Paul sometime in the near future and Ibaka could be one of the better defensive big men in the league. Throw in Green who's probably good for a solid 15/8 and that's a whole lot to be giving up.

I wouldn't want a crybaby who wants everything to go his way ("Or else I'm gone!" terrible teammate) to be anywhere near the group of young, humble and hard working players we have right now.

I agree. Thunder already have a young talented group trading for cp3 would destroy the chemistry built. Chris Paul has had injury issues the past few seasons and who knows if it'll continue. And we already have a talented pg in Westbrook.
