I want to see Durant go bonkers!

So what numbers does Durantula....

have to put up to be hoisting one of these baby's?

Yep the MVP trophy.

What kind of numbers do you think he is going to put up, and will those numbers tanslate to winning the MVP trophy?

I figured I'd give us a chance to be homers and actually think about having Durant actually win the MVP.

I'd love to be treated to yet another surreal season where Kevin averages like 40pts, pulls down 9rebs and averages 4.5 dimes and just under two turnovers, throw in two blocks and 2 steals just for good measure. The kid has a true chance at being one of the great ones.

Part of me is waiting for the roof to cave in a little because the kid is squeeky clean, and has had such a smooth ride and obviously smooth because he works so hard at his game. We all know the kid wants to be a good role model and I don't doubt that he is earnest in his logic but the guy is a young millionaire NBA Superstar, he's not a saint and it's just a matter of time before the kid simply experiences life and has a small bump in the road.

These guys party with the most beautiful women in the world. I'm sure at times it's hard to dismiss such inviting gestures from 10's. And if he truely is a Saint, then god bless him because he is damn good at hoop too.

Durant's year last season was MVP caliber but you're not going to win an MVP as an eighth seed. If he repeats his performance from last season and the Thunder are a Top 3 team in the West I think he could win it.

Durant's last season was great like slick said but more important then anything I hope to see him do better in the playoffs.

The thing is, Durant didn't do bad by any means in the playoffs, he averaged somewhere around 25 ppg.Compared to his regular season stats, yes it was a small step down. This whole myth about him doing bad in the playoffs is absurd. He was guarded by a DPOY in Ron Artest who totes defense as his specialty and went up against the defending champions in the LA LAKERS who designed their whole defense to stop Durant and he still averaged 25 ppg. People always try to validate themselves on reasons why Durant won't be the next big thing.

KD got his 25 points on very low efficiency even by league standards. He definitely had a poor playoffs.

His "D" wasn't too shabby though. I know he didn't score the ball "well" in the playoffs, but I still feel KD had a solid series for the first time out of the gate.

In a way I'm glad Artest shut him down a bit. I know that has served as motivation for Kevin all off season to get better. And hearing about how hard this kid works I have a feeling he is going to hit another level of good, which is a little unimaginable with how good Kevin is, but I do see a little bit of MJ in him, in a competitive fire stand point and wanting to be the best and willing to put in the time to do it. The kid loves the game.

But I also see a guy who really wants to have his teammates close to each other. Mike wasn't so concerned with that though.

the only Stat I care about is the W column. If we win 53-58ish KD should win it (unless the Heat win like 75)

Above all, I'd like to see him do well in the playoffs. Westbrook was the far more important player for the Thunder against the Lakers last season. Durant needs to show that he can be competitive in the playoffs too; then he'll truly be considered as one of the league's best.

I think the maturation of Harden as the 2nd / 3rd scorer is going to be very important. Durant needs to pace himself during the season , not be the only one doing the heavy lifting night in night out.
