Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Orlando Magic 01/13/2010

Post#1 » by slick_watts » Thu Jan 13, 2011 9:56 pm

Orlando lost last night in overtime to Charlotte.

Tough matchup for the Thunder. The Magic, even though they have Dwight Howard, are a perimeter oriented team. They shoot more three pointers than anyone, and they have a bunch of guys who make them with good frequency.

KD might be able to do some work on Turkoglu, but with Howard in the middle, we either have to hope the jumpers are falling or try and get him into foul trouble. Orlando will score points against us.

Thunder's best hope is to have Westbrook and Durant attack the basket and keep Dwight on the bench.

Tough one.

I simply can't believe this team against other top seeds.

We should have signed van Gundy. **** Coach of the Year Award.

I also hate that shot because it puts the other team into transition.

Thankfully, berserker Krstic has come to play tonight. Dwight Howard better watch out for errant chairs.

Reggie Miller forgot Durant has ladders for arms.

There are two men in the arena that could have made that alley-oop :3

Westbrook mid-range is awful.

Thunder is playing fine. Krstic is awake!!! He is masking Jeff Green.

Durant's on fire. The defense let up to end the quarter, I think we should go smaller when Anderson is at center. Collison / Ibaka aren't guarding him at the 3pt line.

Ibaka is terrible at guarding jump shooting big guys. So is Collison.

We're going to need Durant to score 50 if this keeps up. As good as the defense was to start, it's completely collapsed since.

I'll never understand why we invariably help off the perimeter on penetration, especially against good three point teams. On the last play, just have a big man rotate to Turkoglu, KD might recover in time to contest inside off the pass. Helping off the perimeter gives Turkoglu the easiest pass possible and a wide open shot for the shooter.

I don't understand this strategy. It's why we get destroyed on 3pt shots. We're not going to win this game giving up this kind of 3pt shooting.

I think they're playing the game they want to play. Loose defense, all offense. Brooks wants defense, he got it for about 9 minutes of the first quarter but then it was gone once Westbrook / Durant / etc. got going on offense.

Magic are 8-16 from 3PT range. Inexcusable... we're not going to win a shootout against this team, the effort on defense has to be better.

Durant's FT shooting is starting to concern me.

85% in December, 83% in January.

Common KD, you're a 90+ guy :C
