Suns fan here, what would it take for Ibaka or Green?

Post#1 » by SUN » Fri Jan 14, 2011 3:52 am

Here's the skinny.

Nash is out of the deal unless more is involved. Is there any trade you'd accept for Green that doesn't involve Nash?

Nash just had a like 13 points and 16 assists game last night, so y'know.

I really don't think Ibaka should be available.

I would accept Grant Hill or C for Green.

Is Green for Lopez and Hill too optimistic on my end?

Why would the Suns want Green?

They have 20 small forwards.

We're not trading Ibaka. Don't really want Gortat because he's god awful.

Something like Lopez for Green + filler

It would have to be Green for Lopez + filler. Like Grant Hill.

As if that would happen.

Other option is: http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachi ... Id=4rttq85

We want Green as an athletic PF who'd excel with Nash. Hill and Lopez for Green/Good filler/2nd would work for me I guess.

I'd trade Green for Lopez in a New York minute.

I really don't know what to think about in terms of trades involving Cole. On one hand, he's been stuck in the D-League, so that doesn't do huge things to his value or my confidence. On the other hand, he is just a rookie and was just a lottery pick.

I don't think acquiring Grant Hill is that interesting unless we get another big as well, because we're a big short of competing regardless and Hill would be a rental, albeit a good and cheap one, given his age. I'd love a Lopez/Hill combo coming back, or Lopez alone, but Hill alone isn't that appealing.

I posted this in the general trade thread:

Pho: Out Lopez
In Jeff Green and rights to Pleiss/Pick

Memphis: Out Marc Gasol
In Lopez and Cole Aldrich + clippers pick?

Okc Out Jeff Green and Cole Aldrich +assets
In Marc Gasol

I think it could actually work if Marc were unhappy in Memphis, but he's not as of now.

Just to ask the rest of the posters here 2 question.
Realistically speaking, what's the highest you'll go on green for a 5 year contract?
Assuming you're willing to trade him, what would you look for? Picks? Prospect+ Pick? Role players? Harder to answer though.

For me personally, i'll only be willing to go up to 7.5m/season while if i were to trade him, i'll be looking at picks that probably will come to us in 2014 or later (Cheap role players then when our core are settled). Can always add DJ White into the rotation while minutes will be divided amongst White/Ibaka/ Harden
