If we just cut Jeff Green. I'm dead serious at this point. So tired of him.

he was pretty ordinary tonight.

I think its time to bench him and not even just because he isn't a good PF - he simply is not playing good basketball at all for a while now. Ibaka has earned the Starting position IMO.

only 2 rebs again tonight SMH

Yeah Green is so very "meh". I'd much rather take my chances with Ibaka.

When you play a long team like the Lakers at least you feel there is a fighting chance when Ibaka is on Gasol.

And your right Green just hasn't been very good. Last ten games 11.7pts 4rebs, 2.2asts, 0.8stls and 0.2blks

Last ten for Ibaka 9.8pts, 7rebs, 0.5asts, 0.4stls and 1.9blk.

Can't really say Ibaka is heads and tails better than Green if you look simply at their number but defensively Ibaka is a far superior low post defender.

Just make the switch Brooks. Enough's, enough.

I can't check right now, but I'll bet Ibaka is scoring those points at far greater efficiency, and he's playing much better defense overall than Green.

Green is talented, but he's mis-used. And I don't think he's playing well, even for him. Tonight when he just let that loose ball go to Lamar Odom without running after it really bugged me. I think the team would be better overall if Green wasn't on it, if for no other reason than Scott Brooks would be forced into playing more traditional lineups.

I mean, there's no doubt Green is talented. But at this point, even the playing out of position notwithstanding, I don't think he's all that skilled, or GOOD. I think he could be an okay player at the 3 where he isn't such a defensive liability and where he can post up smaller players, but he has plenty of problems offensively and otherwise that have nothing to do with what position he's playing.

If I have to choose between seeing Jeff Green play 30+ minutes a night, a lot of it at the 4, including starting and finishing games, or having Jeff Green not on the team, I choose the latter.

OK for the last 10 games including today's game

here are the offensive numbers

Ibaka: 46/79 for 58.22% from the field 13/24 for 54.1% from the line.

Green 44/108 for 40.07% from the field 14/23 for 60.80% at the line

The only difference is Green shoots 3's (very poor % though)

Jeff is averaging 33.17mins a game during that stretch and Serge 27.00mpg

Knick fan here you guys need a power foward badly somebody like andray blatche or a jason thompson from both players would be great on your team. Those are two best young power fowards on the market you guys should go after.

while you guys continue to skewer Jeff green i'm gonna be brave and skewer Kevin Durant.. I love Kevin Durant but i gotta say this.. why is it everytime we face the Los Angeles Lakers.. i see the look of fear in Durants face?? he's plain scared and act like he's never been in a basketball game before when we play against the Lakers... sometimes i wish we had 5 Russell Westbrooks on the court... jeez

i'll probably settle for Lakers having 5 Fisher.
In all honesty, Artest is one of the better man defender around.

We don't need another PF like Blatche/Thompson, we're better off trying out Ibaka at the 4 first since he already know the team set plays however little there are. What we need is a C.

Wasn't about westbrook. I just like to see the team run and I consider fisher the slowest amongst their starting 5 yet without above average rebounding skills

I'm a student right now so pretty much have all the time to watch

my issue with durant is that he seems to be pouting these days when Westbrook gets his.. you can see it in his body language.. when Russ starts scoring KD gets jealous.. than when Russ passes to KD he just takes a shot immediately weather its a good or bad shot.. if things arent coming easy for Durant he unravels.. guys like Melo and Ron Artest give KD nightmares.. when talent isnt working hard hard work beats talent.. wasnt that a KD quote?? time to apply that crap to your game..

Kobe was definitely trying to defend Westbrook with all of the screens Jeff Green set for him.

I guess that's the way a Westbrook fan would see it, Westbrook wears that pouty face as well as anybody.

Durant has had a few bad games here, but let's not forget those 5-16 days Westbrook can dish out...with 6 turnovers.

Westbrook can impact a game in more ways when his scoring isn't on. Durant seems to disappear when he is not shooting well.

I disagree, and I think it's funny you say this. Westbrook has been our worst defender this season. We give up the fourth highest FG% to point guards in the league. And it's another example of LOOKING like a player is playing well. Russ will run around like a maniac but not keep his man in front of him.

Also, Durant has had 11 games this season where he's had a scoring efficiency lower than Westbrook's average. Duran't scoring is almost always on.

they are both terrible defenders this year. Westbrook might be slightly worse but the fact remains. When Westbrook isn't scoring he can pass, and get tough rebounds. When Durant isn't scoring he is invisible.

That's not a fair statement - Durant is a far better, and more consistent, scorer than Westbrook. If Westbrook did not do more when he wasn't scoring well, he'd be a horrible player.

The tough rebounds is another thing that screams eye candy but is detrimental to the team about as often as it is beneficial. When Westbrook is not scoring well, he'll often go for his misses and other player's misses to get those 'tough rebounds'. More often than not, he does not get them, and we get matched up poorly in transition. He'll gamble more on defense. Try to make tough passes.

As for passing, Russell Westbrook has had 18 games this season with a TS% lower than 50% (indicating a poor scoring day). His assist rate in these games is actually lower than in games when he is over 50%.

Again, I think you are focusing much too strongly on Russell's activity level, and associating that with good play. Kevin Durant can get mopey sometimes when his shot isn't falling (a lot of great scorers have been this way, even Michael Jordan was like this early in his career). But those games come with far less frequency than Russ' poor scoring days, and he has a lower propensity for making bonehead hero plays than Russ, IMO.

did it ever occur to you Slick Watts.. that maybe Scott Brooks wants Russell Westbrook roaming around defensively and helping the thunder big men defend and rebound in the paint because OKC is a vastly under sized team?? or do you just have a vendetta against Westbrook.. I dont go by stats cause i under stand these simple facts.. You think the other night when Derrick Fisher scored 20 points its cause Westbrook thought it was a good idea to leave him open?? You cant be that naive.. obviously Russell had to roam and help on Pau and Bynum... stats shmats..
