not to replace Scott Brooks, but to see if he wants to assist him in helping the defense?

I wish everyone would stop all this Ron Adams talk. The defense was slipping since all star break last year when Adams was here. He is not and answer. He isn't some defensive basketball god. SMH

Clifford Ray would be a better look.

I disagree. Players have been quoted saying that they attributed last year's (okay, first half of last year) revamped defense to him. He could have been less involved as the year went on knowing he wanted to leave okc. the playoff defense was stellar for the most though. the proof is in the pudding with brooks. a defense only training camp leads to no defense. something's wrong there.

The training camp was more focused around offense this year, so off in your assesment. The palyoff defense was good due to attitude of the players. As a team we still play supurb defense for stretches, then the players seem to lose focus. Its about focus not some magical defense that Ron Adams had them playing.

that's actually incorrect. they focussed on defense and brooks was quoted as saying that the offense "would take care of itself." Who's job is it to make the players focus on defense? Oh yeah, it's the coach's. Last year Ron Adams was the guy holding the players accountable.

here's an article about this year's training camp:

http://blog.newsok.com/thunderrumblings ... -quotes-7/

"I spoke with Brooks today about the team’s offense, specifically what we can expect to see different this year that we didn’t see last year. I’ll have a story up on NewsOK.com later today and in Wednesday’s paper. But the offensive end is something I’ve grown more and more curious about because, for all the team’s struggles last year on that end, the offense has again taken a backseat to defense in training camp this year. It’ll be interesting to see how that translates into the regular season. There is a collective belief that the offense will take care of itself as long as the defense remains a staple. And Brooks essentially said not much will be different. He has his areas of focus, which I’ll outline in my story, but limiting turnovers is Brooks’ biggest point of emphasis."

LArry Brown = a bad idea if you have young developing players. Which you do. Lots.

Cliff Ray is a terrific big man coach. If you have any young big man prospects, he would be an excellent choice.
