Is Presti going to land that elusive Center?

Here you go folks, here was last last time this franchise had a legitimate center.

I haven't seen a legit center on this team for most of my life and I'm 38. Sadly, even though Presti has pretty much kicked ass during his tenure, I still lack faith that he is going to pull the trigger on a trade to make it happen.

I get this feeling from watching Jeff Green get 40minutes a night. Part of me says they are shopping him hard and that's why he is getting 40minutes. The other part of me says they are in love with the "little" thing he does.

Well guess what I want to love the "BIG" things a player does. "F" the little things, give me the big things.

Give me a reliable 3rd option. Heck I'm cool with a non All-Star. Just get me a baller who has a reliable post game, rebounds well can block some shots and can be an enforcer.

Nene would be nice. And honestly I think with the turmoil in Denver if they trade Melo, they will be looking to rebuild. I think he could be had.

I doubt Perkins is going to be available, the rest of his team is aging out of the league.

Marc Gasol would be nice but I just got done looking at the Grizzlies cap they have all sorts of room to keep him. And trust me they will keep him a 100x's over ZBO.

Just forget about DeAndre Jordan, the Clippers are not trading that kid. He is starting and keeps getting better and he is young. If the Thunder land a center from the Clippers it's going to be Kaman. Who doesn't thrill me but he's still an upgrade.

Heck at this point I would even take a Dalembert rental, just to get a taste of what it's like to actually have a center on this team. Although his offense along with Ibaka would be a little lack luster. They should block just about everything in sight.

But honestly here's a gamble I would be more than willing to take. Right now Brook Lopez is playing like dog poo. The kid might not be the best rebounder but offensively he is decent. I know his FG% isn't the best but playing on a team with no other offensive options the kid see's a lot of defensive pressure. He's young. He's a legit 7' and I think on a better team playing next to Durant and Westbrook, Lopez could really blossom.

But bottom line is Centers don't grow on trees. Even the one's that are available you still have to give up a boatload to get them. Unfortunately I have a feeling we will be crossing our fingers come the first part of this coming October that Tibor Pleiss isn't as worthless as Aldrich.

Yeah, Seattle didn't have many good centers...

I liked Ervin Johnson, but he didnt stay long in Seattle.
Jim McIlvaine was probably the worst starting center ever in the NBA :)
Sam Perkins was actually quite good, but not a traditional type of center.

Well, at least Patrick Ewing played in a Sonics jersey one time...when he was an old man already :))

Btw, I would love to see either Kaman, Nene or Gortat in OKC uniform. Probably wont happen.

Nane will be delt. But, if they can not get New York to take Al Harrington, he will have to be included in and deal where Nane goes. The Thunder have the expiring contracts. But, that would be taking on a 4 year 30 milion dollar contract for a rent-a-player. Doubt the Thunder go anywhere near that contract.

Really the third year college player who has come into the league and has done nothing on game day besides tie a tie?

Sene used to dominate in the D League, OKAY!

I have more faith in Mullens at this point than I do in Aldrich. Mullens can at least shoot!

Plus Aldrich is just down right slow end to end. He is the definition of plodder!

If Varejao was still healthy, I wouldn't have been surprised if the Thunder were to trade Green for him. They definitely wouldn't do that now though. I wouldn't bet on Gasol or Jordan signing here, but Perkins might be worth an offer. Won't come cheap though. Both him and Green will probably rake in $8-11 mill per year.

Great to see them get a look at Perkins before having to offer him a contract. I've been wondering for a while if he has been overrated thanks to playing with Boston. He's always been a terrific defender, but he certainly turns the ball over a lot while never seeming like the best anchor. I think he'll still be a solid fit though, and don't see many better options out there. Hopefully he fits great.

I think he is going to be a great fit. I thought for sure Boston would end up re-signing him.

I always thought Michael Cage was a good center. Not dominating, but he held his own.
