Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Indiana Pacers 03/02/2011

It's a new month, and it's about time the Thunder got back on track. February was pretty rough.
March is a bit easier. Of the Thunder's 16 games in March, only 1 (@Miami) is against a team with a better record. Half the games are against teams below .500. Scott Brooks said Nazr Mohammed will play against Indiana (may even start), and Kendrick Perkins should be ready to give the team a shot in the arm by the middle of the month. With our loss to the Lakers, a bid for the 3rd seed got much weaker, but the team has a golden opportunity to put some distance on the fifth seed and put a vice grip on HCA for the first round.
First up is Indiana. They will be coming off a back to back against Golden State. The Pacers are an above average offensive team but struggle defensively, so this will be a good test for our new Green and Krstic-less offensive to get something going.

The trade we made kind of killed our chance to get the third seed this year. All I want is to get the fourth seed, get home court in the first round, win that round, then see what happens after that.

I hope Nazr starts. He is still a good player. Plus it would move Collison back to the bench where he is best suited.

That means ou rotation should look something like this:
Ibaka 35 / Collison 13
Durant 40 / Thabo 8
Nazr 24 / Cole 12 / Collison 12
Thabo 12 / Harden 28 / Cook 8
Westbrook 34 / Maynor 14

Now that's the line i like. Even if Harden is not starting...

if thabo just learns to hit a 3 then him starting would be perfect, I wonder if we re-sign cook despite my doubts he's found his shot and I'd imagine he'd come cheap

Now that we have Perkins I can't imagine us being big in free agency, so re-signing Cook seems fairly logical unless he has some big playoff shots and inflates his value.

Thabo = New Jeff Green in terms of lineup decisions.

Well, it's safe to say the defense has been incredible the first few minutes.

Too bad Nazr is so old.
I'd like to keep him.

Ummm, old?? Ok, he is not young, but he is not old either. He's 33. For lots of players thats prime age.

I thought he was older, the amount of mid-season trades he's been involved on played tricks on me while skimming his basketball reference page.
He's still hardly a spring chicken though. And barring Steve Nash, there aren't too many people whose prime age is 33 ;p

really nice fist half. Even though I hate small ball, at least the other team was playing small as well so it didn't hurt us.
