Westbrook is shooting too many jumpshots

Post#1 » by Krodis » Sat Mar 5, 2011 10:03 pm

It's good that he added it into his game in that it could open up driving lanes for him, but at this point I think he's simply settling for too many jump shots instead of getting to the rim (or passing) more, which is hurting his efficiency.

He's shooting mid-range jumpers at a poor percentage (well below 40%), to the point where he'd be much, much better off pulling up from 3 some more instead of pulling up from 15 feet.

I mean, Westbrook does so many positive things on the floor so I don't mean to harp, but this is becoming a slight problem imo.

He and our PF/C players doesn't know how to run a pick n roll and it's not their fault.

He get to mid range and simply don't know what to do when the opposite paint close his infiltrations.

So he shots or pass Durant.

You are 100% right, thats exactly what happens. Thats why I say Brooks is very poor coach, because he cant even teach them the simplest (and most effective) play in basketball, the Pick and Roll.

Westbrook just passed CP3, and is #1 PG in PER now.

Good is Excellent's worst enemy.

Do you want Westbrook playing good or the best he can do?
