Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Detroit Pistons 03/11/2011

Post#1 » by slick_watts » Fri Mar 11, 2011 10:01 pm

Kendrick Perkins will not play tonight, according to Marc Spears he is eyeing a Wednesday return to play against Miami.

Detroit has two things going against them in this game. They are a bad team, and they are an Eastern Conference team. OKC has done well against the East, and Detroit stinks.

Which isn't to say they don't have good players. Greg Monroe has started to come on in a big way, though he's playing center for the Pistons and that is certainly not where he belongs long term. Tayshaun Prince is a rangey defender to stick on KD, and Count Dunkula himself Chris Wilcox shouldn't be much of an issue for our bigs on the boards (or defensively).

Rodney Stuckey sometimes gives us problems in the penetration department, and everyone remembers Tracy McGrady's comeback game for the Knicks last season against OKC.

I don't expect this to be a close game, and it really shouldn't. The Thunder should take care of business.

sucks that Perk is out tonight, but if it's true he wants to play vs Miami, damn its going to be fun. Its on ESPN and it will be hyped quite a bit.

he isn't playing well, seems like the whole team hasn't woke up from their nap yet.

That surprised me, has he ever done that in a game before?

Second quarter looked good to me. Westbrook was looking to distribute, Cook was hitting his threes, Durant, Harden, and Collison were being Durant, Harden, and Collison, and Ibaka was getting evolved.

Ibaka is the next Kemp.

JK. But he can be as good as he wants.

I'm beginning to worry that the team has recovered from too many first quarter deficit that it might begin to think it can turn any deficit if it just step up a gear and doesn't start games with the intensity that we would like to see.

Harden has been absolutely insane since we traded Green.

I think Harden re-found his 3 point shot.

Also, Nick Collison: offensive threat has also emerged since Green was traded. It's like he's back in Kansas.

I agree with you. We need Westbrook to distribute the ball more, and looking for his team mates. But Harden and Ibaka had really impress me, with the way they are playing right now.

Don't go small ball next game please, Scott Brooks.

You have Mohammed and Collison from bench. No need to separate Durant and Harden from perimeter.
