He has been ridiculous this year. Early in the season people were thinking that Presti made an awful trade when he acquired him for literally nothing. After the first 5 games people wanted him benched for the rest of the year, me included.
Let's look at some of his stats:
So far he is playing the least amount of minutes in his career and shooting by far the least amount of shots that he ever has. He's having a career year, as weird as that sounds.
PER36 stats -
14.6 points, .431 fg%, .416 3pt%, .800 ft%, .624 ts% (!!), .609 eFg% (!!!), 12 PER, 120 OffRtg
He's had career highs in 3pt shooting, points per 36, OffRtg, ts%, eFg%, and PER. His eFg% is by far the best in the NBA.
He's been much, much better than anyone could've expected and, personally, I hope we re-sign him

Re: Dequan Cook
He's been terrific for his role on the team. Definitely a surprise.
There was a recent article on Basketball Prospectus on Daequan Cook and the Most Improved player award. It's a subscription article so I don't want to get too in depth, but here are a couple points from it.
The overarching message is that Miami used Cook in a lot of situations that he is not good in. Pick and roll handling, coming off screens. Here, he's been used strictly as a spot up shooter and it's worked out. Almost all of his attempts are 3PT attempts, and his defense while not great, has been alright.
A good playoffs for Cook might take him out of the price range I'd be comfortable with, but he definitely has managed to turn his season around.

From last season to this season, no player's points per scoring attempt increased more than Daequan Cook's. Cook has gone from scoring 0.84 points per scoring attempt last season (351st) to 1.22 points per scoring attempt this season (21st)

I do get the feeling that someone is going to pay him more than we're willing to, then proceed to use him both more frequently, and in a way he shouldn't be used, and he's not going to play well because of it.

Probably. I would also hope that this isn't a case of just playing for his contract. Even if some other team signs him, there is still Nate rotting on the bench who could fill those minutes.
I move around so much, I've just decided to start rooting for everybody.
Except the Heat.

My hope is that we resign Nazr and Cook to decent contracts and then package Nate and Mullens in a trade for a back up wing or stretch big.

What would be the correct price for him though?
Morrow was better from 3s and he got offer of 4m/year. I don't know how well regarded he was on defence though.

I think he may take the QO and stay in OKC for another season. If not, any contract which is bigger than Thabo's should not be matched.
Cook's defense is improving, and I appreciate his rebounding ability too.

If he does not stay with OKC I think he might be a nice pick up for my my Bulls... Decent size and cab shoot the three...
