Kendrick Perkins legs

Post#1 » by HeartSouloma » Sat Apr 30, 2011 2:56 am

I know that Perkins been helping us out lately but he seems to be slow cause of that ACL/MCL injury he had. Do you think next season maybe Perk would be a 100%, and take off thoses two braces he have on his knees?

Heres an article that I find.

I think Perk is moving around pretty well considering he's barely removed from knee surgery. It usually takes a full year before players regain complete strength and confidence in a knee after it's been operated on. I've seen it happen with Tony Allen and KG. Perk's going to be fine next year IMO.

Don't hold your breath. Dude doesn't dunk or score much and he likes to "power-up" before he goes up to dunk and brings the ball down where little guards can get at it so he gets stripped. Enjoy the defense if he gets and stays healthy but don't plan on any highlight dunks.

I know that, but I just want the guy to dunk a little bit whenever he got the ball in his hands or offense rebounds. Thats when his knees are back to 100 percent.

He looks like one of the slowest and most uncoordinated players in the NBA

Hopefully by next season hell get in a shape a bit and will be fully healthy

Id say he is about 60-70%. He is only 10 months removed from his injury, which usually take anywhere between 1 to 2 years to fully heal after getting back into the grove. Plus the brace limits his movements a lot.

Next year he should be around 90% back and the year after that 100% assuming everything goes well.

Coming from a Celtics fan he does not look 100%. Perk doesn't have incredible leaping power or athleticism anyway so the injury is taking a toll. Also remember he is more of a shot changer than shot blocker. He came back much faster from the injury than anticipated which is a good sign. I think he will be back to himself next year without a doubt. He always works his ass off training in the off-season and in general.

He's still getting back into it. He came back mid-season so he had no training camp, he's got braces on his knees, and he probably doesn't have 100% confidence in his legs yet. My guess is he'll look a lot different next season.
