"Boston offered Rondo & Jeff Green to OKC for Westbrook & KPerkins after last season's playoffs. OKC was not interested, sources say."

Seriously? Boston wanted trade backs? Guess they figured out exactly how bad Jeff Green actually is

I was thinking the same thing when I read it. Don't they know the "you touched it last" rule?

If this story is for real? How embarrassing is that for Danny Ainge?

The worst part is that the offer isn't even close.

Gotta agree... Just assume they want to undo the Green/Perkins swap (since we were able to extend Perk and they didn't with Green?). Then you're saying Westbrook for Rondo. I really just don't see it. Rondo certainly has an edge on Russ in a few areas, but I think those are the places where Westbrook's growth is most located as well..

Westbrooks ceiling is just so high. Rondo has hit his ceiling, and his main dysfunctional quality is is a poor shooter from the line. So I would not even do Rondo for Westbrook stright up.

Now if it was Green and Rondo for Westbrook, I really think hard about pulling the trigger on that one. But, the money Green and Rondo are going to command compared to the money Westbrook is going to get, we would loose out on either Harden or Ibaka and neither Green or Rondo would be as important as thoes two young studs.

Now I dont know why Ange would think we would trade Perkins. I think at the end of the season he immediately regreted that trade.

Jeff Green is a very nice player, he is a guy I would love back on the Thunder but at the price tag he is just not worth is because he is between a 4 and a 3, and he really can't play either position. He can not defend a biger 4 or a faster 3, he can not create his own shot, or rebound that well.

When this Perkins for Green trade first happened at the deadline I scrached my head on why the C's pulled this deal off. Now the whole C's franchise is doing the same thing. With Perkins at a 100% now and the C's having one last shot at it I am sure they would love Perkins back.

Danny made a big mistake.

The only part I'm hesitant to agree about is "with Perkins at 100%". I need to see this guy get on the court playing at peak performance for an extended period of time before I'm sold on his big extension being worthwhile.

Agree that Westbrooks ceiling is really high.

But how has Rondo hit his ceiling? He had stretches in playoff series where he averaged a triple double. He has shown that he can score 20 and still do his usual thing. And even with hands as big as his, why can't he become better at shooting?

If he continues to work on his shooting he will at some point become a decent shooter and with that I still think that Rondo can be a 14/5/11 guy who steps his game up in the playoffs to 16/6/13.

I'm not saying that you should do a Westbrook-Rondo swap but Harden has 20/4/4 potential (also Ibaka has some offensive potential) and putting a truer PG next to him and KD makes sense. As of right now, obviously you guys absolutely need Westbrook as a 2nd option though.

Rondo main area of improvement would be his shooting % which he's unlikely to improve much at Boston with 3 HOF whom are much better shooter that he as a traditional PG would not have trouble finding. He has shown to be a leader with some of his playoff performance but we'll never know how good his assist is until some of those HOF retire. He's probably still better than Westbrook at assisting but not far off considering the players he had to play with (Allen/Pierce/Garnett) vs (Thabo/Durant/Green or Ibaka) and also the fact that Boston attack has alot more plays drawn up than OKC.

OKC needs Westbrook or another 2nd scorer should he be going. At the PG spot, the only one that could be moving and could be a 2nd scorer is D. Will or Chris Paul. Nobody else. Westbrook could look to improve his ballhandling+range as well.

Both still have upside but Westbrook probably has more upside at this point. I rather stick with westbrook and let him improve.

Westbrook for Rondo( Alone or + asset) is a no right now for me.

Weaknesses in the Thunder offense would be worse with Rondo. Celtics get away with it by having good shooters (Ray Allen, Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett) and those players can all move the ball as well. Imagining Rondo on the court with only a couple other shooters and nobody to move the ball in the front court? Teams will just play a box and one on him.

Then people will say, 'just start Harden it solves that problem'. But it also solves that problem with Westbrook, and Westbrook is a better fit offensively for the team anyway, is younger, and has a higher ceiling. So why even think about trading him for Rondo in the first place? Beats me.

Only guy i would be okay with getting in return for Westbrook would be D-Williams as he would add better leadership, better numbers, and obviously he would make better choices which is a young Westbrooks only major downfall.
