Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Orlando Magic 12/25/2011

Post#1 » by slick_watts » Sat Dec 24, 2011 6:14 pm

I wanted to do a crazy cool game thread for this but I haven't had the time to get it together.

I think this is a pretty good scenario for the Thunder. We'll get to see right away how our healthy Perkins fares against a big challenge. Orlando is always going to fire away three pointers, and that was occasionally a weakness for the team last season defensively (rotations off help). With the two big bodies maybe we won't have to over commit defensively so much.

Offensively, we know Jameer Nelson stands no shot against Russell. Nobody on Orlando can defend Durant. Dwight makes things dicey, of course, but at home in the opener I expect some generous whistles.

Haven't seen any news on the starting lineup but I think it's looking like Thabo is still starting...

At some point, I was thinking that Brooks had said Thabo is still the starter and everyone seems to behaving that way as well...

Really excited to see how our interior D is against Howard. The healthy Perkins on the ball combined with Serge on the weak side should prove to be very effective against the Magic (and hopefully everyone).

Glad to have the NBA back and a win would make Christmas that much better!

Best opponent to see if we are going to overhelp on defence and leaving those open 3s.
Hope it ahs improved. Excited for the games to start finally

Would be nice to see Perkins beside Glen Davis, those 2 bodies has went in the opposite direction since leaving boston.

Thunder is that type of team that can be down 20+ and comeback within 2 minutes. Very exciting team to watch and they all run well on a fast break.

Yep, looks like... Maybe. Sure hope so!

Love that Perk can score off of a post move, even to some small extent

Like a new player came back after the lockout in his place.

Pretty happy with what Ive seen so far in the first half.
One of the major improvements is good ball movement, 15 assists on 19 made field goals.
