It would take a considerable amount to get D Howard to the Thunder. I believe a package of Westbrook and Perkins would not be sufficient. I feel as if the Magic would really pressure the Thunder into giving up Harden as well, which in my opinion would be to much. Harden is going to be the real gem of the evolving core group (with the exception of Durant of course who is already a top 5 player) If Harden was starting at the 2, Westbrook would be shooting less and playmaking less, consequently everyone would be screaming Harden deserves a max and Westbrook only about 5 to 6 mill a year. Harden is capable of both scoring and playingmaking more efficiently than Westbrook as well. There is no way I would take back Jameers ugly contract and he isn't exactly a pass first point guard either. I feel as if the offense just doesn't flow through him, same as Westbrook. If they insisted on Harden, I would at least take back Reddick, though at $6 and $6.5 he is a bit steep. But Jameer is owned 7.3 and then 7.8. They are both expiring next season, and I bet Reddick wouldnt resign for less. In any case, I don't think I could part with Harden. He really showed his value and true worth during the playoffs last season.

Perhaps a package of Westbrook, Perkins, Nazr Muhammad, 1st rounder, 2nd rounder for D. Howard, Qrich/C. Duhon would be enough to get it done. The trade checks out. That seems like a lot, but it gives OKC the advantage of contending for a championship immediately. Orlando gets young talent and draft picks while at the same time they are left with a team that is still able to compete. Granted if this happened OKC would be looking to pick up some free agents dleaguers or leftover NBAers who havent signed yet. How much worse could Westbrook be then G. Arenas j/k

Westbrook might be the best player in any Dwight Howard Offer. Dwight wants to go to a Big Market. While Durant and Dwight would be great. We have a team here w/ a 10-man rotation that works. Let's let it ride.

If I were OKC's GM for day ....

Trade Westbrook to G.S. for S.Curry

Then call Otis Smith and start negotiations with this idea: J.Harden, Perkins, and draft picks for Dwight and Turks ugly contract. I'm sure another player or two would be thrown in.

New potential lineup: Curry, Sefolosha, Durant, Ibaka and Dwight

:D

We aren't giving up Harden. I have no issue with you dreaming though.

I think they should do that trade with Ibaka in place of Harden. I love Ibaka but he is redundant with Dwight Howard. The Thunder cannot afford to give away both Harden and Westbrook without an elite guard coming back.

It's hard to make the salaries match up though.

Nelson / Maynor
Harden / Cook
Durant / Thabo
Collison / Vet FA
Howard / Aldrich

That is obviously a championship contender this year and it's also a roster that allows you to plug in play guys around the Durant/Howard/Harden core for the next 5-7 years. The current roster will be much more difficult to maintain IMO. It's one thing paying Durant and Westbrook, but when guys like Ibaka and Harden get huge RFA contracts it will be a bitch for the Thunder. In this scenario you just pay the big 3 and use your exceptions, draft picks, and vet minimums to fill out the rest.

Also, Westbrook/Ibaka/Perkins is an amazingly good return for the Magic. They are idiots if they turn that down, IMO.

These discussions are fun but Dwight won't sign an extension with OKC.

Possibly so. I wonder sometimes if that is the only reason it hasn't happened yet. Pretty lame by Dwight if he is that concerned with playing in a big market.

He makes 25 mil more playing in a big market and he gets to enjoy living in a great city

Nothing lame about making 25 mil and having fun in a big city

Sound like a win win and no brainr if I was Dwight
like I said before OKC should just be happy they have Durant because he couldve not resigned with the thunder and went back to his hometown the DMV and played with Wall and Mcgee

as a Magic fan, and a fan of the player OKC have assembled, i'd be happy with a package of Harden + Ibaka + Perkins for Dwight. you guys can keep Durant and Westbrook to team up with Dwight, and a team that lethal should be enough to keep Dwight. whilst he wants a bigger city, i think even his management are smart enough to recognise that he'll get far more attention playing on a contending team, and a possible dynasty. i could picture Thunder/Heat Finals for the next 5 years.

meanwhile, i'm of the belief that Harden is a Ray Allen type difference maker, who will make teams great but may never be recognised for just how good he is. Ibaka is just a weapon defensively, and Perk is a decent value replacement at C.

Sorry guys but any trade scenario involving Harden are virtually impossible. Right now I feel like this front office would sooner trade Westbrook than Harden.

I am 100% on board with this.. No disrespect to Russel, he is a great talent. But damn, Harden is an amazing player that really fits a team concept.

I'd be estatic w/ a Perkins, Ibaka, Mohammed and either westbrook or harden for dwight/jameer or duhon/whatever trade.

Maybe If Dwight gets frustrated enough we could talk him into signing an extension with OKC just for the sake of getting off of Orlando as soon as possible :D

i think this is the best scenerio for both teams
howard+jrich or nelson == perkins+ibaka+ harden or westbrook

but D12 want to go broklyn and i believe thats the best place for him right now.
okc durants team, lakers bryants team, dallas dirks team . he never admit to be 2. or 3.
