How many franchise records will Durant hold?

Post#1 » by fallacy » Thu Feb 9, 2012 8:37 pm

Assuming Durant finishes his career in OKC and doesn't have any serious injuries in his career, how many of these will he hold?

Points: Payton 18,207 (Durant 8810)
Games: Payton 999 (Durant 339)
Field Goals Made: Payton 7,292 (Durant 3002)
3pt Made: Lewis 918 (467)
FT Made: Sikma 3,044 (2339)
Turnovers: Payton 2,507 (1039)
Rebounds: Sikma 7,729 (Durant 2194)

I think he'll get all of them besides the rebounds. It's insane that Durant is almost half way there on all of these franchise records after only 4 full seasons. If he keeps up his current rebounding or moves to PF eventually, he'll get the rebounds too.

I think he would get them all except rebounds.

I think he can get rebounds.

If he averages 7.5 boards a game (below is current season average) and 75 games a year (below is career game average) for the next 10 years he will pas Sikma. He'd only be 33 then so If he really does play his whole career in OKC he will play long past 33.

Or another scenario. 6.5 boards, 70 games a year, for 13 years. He'd get it then too.

All the other stats he is basically lock. Barring serious injury of course.

Westbrook might pass him in turnovers though if he stays long enough too

I don't think he will get any of the records unless he had a rookie record for the Sonics.

I think Seattle will get a new NBA team and will also get their history back from OKC. So all of Durant stats will be OKC's and not Seattle's.

Doubt it. I have plenty of reasons to not like the Thunder. I'm like a battered woman though, I just keep going back to a bad situation.

I'm sure the new team in Seattle will treat me with more respect and won't wipe their feet on me. Like OKC did on the way out.
