A Little Perspective!

How young are we relative to past NBA Champions? Are we too young? well here are the stats......
Last 20 Champions, average age of the guys that played starter minutes(top 5)
1992 Chicago Bulls - 27
1993 Chicago Bulls - 26.4
1994 Houston Rockets - 28.2
1995 Houston Rockets - 29
1996 Chicago Bulls - 30.6
1997 Chicago Bulls - 32.6
1998 Chicago Bulls - 32.4
1999 San Antonio Spurs - 30.6
2000 Los Angeles Lakers - 30.4
2001 Los Angeles Lakers - 30
2002 Los Angeles Lakers - 28.4
2003 San Antonio Spurs - 25.8
2004 Detroit Pistons - 25.6
2005 San Antonio Spurs - 27.6
2006 Miami Heat - 28.8
2007 San Antonio Spurs - 30.2
2008 Boston Celtics - 27.4
2009 Los Angeles Lakers - 28.8
2010 Los Angeles Lakers - 31
2011 Dallas Mavericks - 32.4
2012 Oklahoma City Thunder - 23.4
so in the last 20 years, the youngest team according to starting 5 minutes(top 5 guys) that has won a championship was the 2004 Detroit Pistons at the young age of 25.6. As you can see most of the Champions have an average age of around 27-32
Ours this year is 23.4, a full 2 years younger than the youngest in the last 20 years.
Now I'm not saying we can't win it all this year, but we would be bucking a serious trend if we did. It doesn't excuse our lackadaisical play as of late, but it is a dose of some perspective. Keep our expectations in check.
