NO idea. But at least we get a 6 to 9 days off. Don't think we can beat LA without Perk

I think we can beat LA without Perk, but it would be... more difficult. Certainly beating LA is the reason he's here so it would be a shame for him to miss time against his best matchup. (And especially since he's been playing well the last month or so)

We need Perkins to advance past the Spurs. The Lakers, not so much. With the Lakers all we have to do is play the 4 guard line up that destroyed the Mavs and it would do the same with the Lakers as there is no one on the Lakers who can effectively and fully guard our trio.

Perkins won't miss a game.

I hope he doesn't miss a game. Your combo of Ibaka-Collison is the biggest problem for most teams. Their quickness on the P and R blows games open.

Why do you need Perkins vs Spurs and not the Lakers?
Spurs has Duncan inside and he is old and slow and way past his peak, he is still a good player dont get me wrong.
Lakers have Bynum and Gasol inside and that frontcourt is stronger.

Lakers would put Kobe on Westrbrook on D(work great last time)
Lakers would put Ron Artest(no peach) on Durant
But the hart time would be when Westbrook, Harden and Durant are all in the game at the same time, the Lakers would put Seasion or Barnes on Harden to D up.

Thunder would put Perkins on Bynum
Thunder would put Ibaka on Gasol
Thunder would put Harden/Durant in the 4Q on Kobe.

This would be a hard series for Thunder(but they would be the favroit).

But like i said, why would the Thunder need Perkins more against the Spurs that dose not have mutch inside game then against the Lakers that have the inside game?

Thunder in 5 or at worst, 6.

The Lakers seem to be broken down a bit more by younger teams and the fast game. Durant can deal with Gasol (Not that Durant is a great defender, but Gasol is not the Gasol of 6 years ago) and Ibaka + Collison can more then handle Bynum. But they push a small court and there is nothing the Lakers can do, do you honestly think that Kobe can deal with the defensive assignment of Westbrook, Harden or even Durant if needed? Absolutely not. Maybe for one or two games, not a series.

With all due respect, Ibaka nor Collison can guard Bynum on single coverage. Perkins is the only player on OKC who stands a remote chance of guarding Bynum, how effective that remains to be seen. OKC's best bet would be to send doubles as soon as Bynum touches the ball, ala how Denver is doing...

I don't see the potential match up against the Lakers quite the same way.

Krodis and some others have been posting about how Presti built this team to beat the Lakers. This might be true, but it doesn't mean a guaranteed victory. We've seen at various times this season and Presti himself has stated that the Thunder still have work to do.

If you watched the LAL vs. Denver series you've been reminded just how big and physical Andrew Bynum plays. Even if Perkins is healthy Bynum will be a very difficult match up and if Perkins isn't available the alternatives are even more in the Lakers favor. If the Lakers can press this advantage and make it an unstoppable advantage then the Thunder is in trouble.

Small ball gives OKC some advantages, but if the Lakers are disciplined in controlling tempo then small ball could hurt OKC as well. Sessions has been doing a very good job of controlling tempo for the Lakers against Denver and OKC will have to penetrate against Bynum and Gasol instead of Mahinmi and Wright.

The Lakers are playing well and will be a tough match up.

The Lakers actually would prefer that OKC plays a hobbled Perkins. The Lakers struggle on the double on Bynum in the post. OKC's defense is fairly simple in execution. Now if you guys were experienced in playing a zone that would be different.

Kendrick Perkins (hip) did some pre-practice shooting on Saturday, but he remains a game-time decision for Monday's game.
Perkins could increase his activity if he responds well to the light workout, so we should have a better feel for his status on Sunday. Even if he is forced to miss Game 1, Oklahoma City's long layoff was perfectly timed for their big man to heal. May. 12 - 4:46 pm et
