Official Draft and Offseason Thread

The Thunder have the following players under contract for 2012-13:
Kendrick Perkins | Cole Aldrich
Serge Ibaka | Nick Collison
Kevin Durant | Lazar Hayward
Thabo Sefolosha | James Harden | Daequan Cook
Russell Westbrook | Eric Maynor | Reggie Jackson
Nazr Mohammed, Derek Fisher, and Royal Ivey are all free agents.
This gives the Thunder three available roster spots, either for draft picks or free agents. The Thunder own the 28th pick in the draft and do not own a 2nd round pick.
Rumors are the Thunder are looking into bringing Tibor Pleiss over for summer league at the very least, so they may save a roster spot for the possibility that he shows something. They also still retain rights to Latavious Williams, who has been playing well in Spain's ACB league. There are also reports that the Thunder may sign CSKA Moscow forward Andrey Vorontsevich. Vorontsevich is a 25 year old forward who is a versatile defender (defends SF, PF, and C), has a jump shot out to NBA three point range, and is fairly athletic for his size.
DraftExpress has the Thunder selecting Draymond Green. Andrew Nicholson had a workout with the Thunder last month (that Vorontsevich was also reportedly a part of), so there is interest there. A stash pick such as Evan Fournier is also a possibility.
Lastly, and perhaps most important, is the free agency status of Serge Ibaka and James Harden. Both will be eligible to have contract extensions negotiated on July 1st.

Books recontract is another big issue to me.
I don't think Mr Andrey is a versatile defender, at most can say he gives effort on defence?
Would really want to see if we can extend ibaka/harden.
Would prefer Ibaka over Harden ( i think more room to improve plus bigs don't really peak until at a later age) plus he gives us better structure rather than having 45m tied up on our perimeter. Depends whether Durant will remain SF or play PF eventually.
I wonder if we will try resign ryan reid.

Extend Harden for 4 years 50 million
Extend Ibaka for 4 years 40 million
Worry about Maynor once he hits RFA.
Draft and stash overseas.
Trade Dequean Cook for anything. This postseason proved that the Thunder have no faith in the guy so I don't see any sense of keeping him on board.
Let Fisher walk.
Let Nazr Walk.
Resign Ivey to minimum deal.
Bring over Tabor Pleiss, and have him and Cole battle for backup Center position.
Westbrook/Maynor/Jackson
Thabo/Harden/Ivey
Durant/Hayward
Ibaka/Collison
Perkins/Alrdirch/Pleiss
EDIT: Just kidding about Pleiss. Looks like he signed a 4 year deal with a Spanish team.

How great would it be to extend Ibaka, Harden, and Maynor on the first day of Free Agency?
The most important thing is to keep thie core group together. Whatever it takes!
It looks like Pleiss will stay over seas atleast one more year. Which is good for the team. He can build on his skills.
It looks like we will get a good look at Andrey Vorontsevich, during the Olympics.
There is not a huge weekness on this team but, there are defintally things that need to be added. The Team went with a 8-man rotation in the finals. With Fisher out, and being replaced by Maynor. There is really an opening for that 9th guy off the bench. Everyone will say the team needs a scorer. But, I think Maynor will be that 4th guy who can put the ball in the bucket. So in the 8-man rotation they have 4 defensive players (Perk, Ibaka, Thabo, and Nick) and 4 offensive players (Durant, Westbrook, Harden, and Maynor).
Who does everyone like in the Draft?
Sullinger, Q. Miller, Nicholson, J. Taylor and Green all seem to be nice fits with this team.
When you look at the splits there is no big man who is scoring unless you count Durant as a 4. If the team has the chance to get Sullinger I think it is a great risk/reward situation.
If not I think the other 4 all offer something different that can make the team better.

I wonder if the Thunder have any plans to develop Aldrich and or Jackson by giving them playing time next season?
I've mentioned my like for Jae Crowder is a previous thread. I also like Tony Wroten, Jeffrey Taylor and Draymond Green.
I'm not crazy about Nicholson, Fournier, Jenkins, Barton or Quincy Miller.

I see us packaging a couple guys. Cook, Aldrich and 28 for a mid-teens pick. We don't really need a big free agent signing, but we do need to improve. I think our chances for a cheap scorer off the bench improves greatly with that kind of pick. Sullinger, Terrance Ross, Royce White, Quincy Miller come to mind.

I still don't feel like we'll change much of anything this offseason. About the only draft trade I could see is trading into the future or selling the pick all together.

Trade Harden to the Bobcats for the #2 pick draft Beal.
Harden gave the Thunder 12pts on 38% from the field when they needed him most in the finals. I'm pretty sure a rookie can do that for the Thunder and a heck of a lot cheaper than having to fork over a max contract.
Whatever happens don't draft Sullinger.

Harden for Beal? Really? Stop it!
What is wrong with taking Sullinger. If he falls to 28 you have to take him. He is a big man who can socre. W/ the 28 pick in the draft I am sure we are all ok with taking a chance on top 10 guy w/ an injury concern.

I dont think Sullinger will drop to 28 but if he's there i'll take him even if we have a draft and stash option available. He should be good for his rookie contract at least.

Otis Smith may be gone, but part of his legacy lives on in Glen Davis. My condolences.

Why not PJ3?

I like Moultrie if he's still available. PJ3 could be poisonous to the team if he doesn't develop proper.
