What's your opinion on him? I don't watch NCAA but from the highlights and stats he sounds like a great pick up for #28. Is he like jeff green? I know he's an athletic freak and can apparently shoot and score around the rim

He's athletic as hell and he is skilled. He isn't assertive and he is a 4 who plays around the perimeter but isn't a great shooter. He has trouble getting post position even on 6'7,6'8" guys and doesn't roubound well. The skill is there he's an ok shooter, he can handle the ball, he can score but he's sort of lost on the floor. He apparently has an issue with his knee too, the same thing that took Brandon Roy out (but Roy issues in both knees).
Nonetheless a great pickup for OKC, he has the portential to be a star even though it is very unlikely he will be.

This.
I am surprised that he has the same knee issue. Hopefully he is able to have a lengthy career.
Imagine how set the Thunder would be if Perry Jones comes out blazing with a chip on his shoulder and looks like Chris Bosh or something? It wouldn't be fair for any of the 29 teams having to play OKC.

Im almost positive Perry's knee issue is not the same as Roy's .. Roy had a rare case. Same part of the knee but different issues comparing the two.

I like the guy a lot actually. Has a great height for his position. If he gets on the court with Durant, no team can match their size at forward spots. His athleticism is way above average and is outstanding for his size. Lacking post game isn't necessarily a big deal since this guy arrived to a team that would expect him to do what he does best when he comes off the bench. Hopefully he can grow into an all-around player, I believe he has the necessary tools to do so. He is an unselfish player, he doesn't try to steal the spotlight, which is great because OKC run their offense mostly by isolating Westbrook, Durant or Harden. A lucky pick up for a winning team that doesn't need instant impact.

What actually has hurt his draft stock over the course of his college career will help OKC a lot imo. Perry was always expected to be a superstar player with elite size and skills with an all around dominating game. In college people realized that Perry is really unselfish and ready to defer even to inferior players, he doesn't have the game style to dominate like people expected when he came out of high school. Thus his spot fell out of the lottery because teams mostly were disappointed with Perry Jones, they considered him a player with a go-to guy potential with dominating skills but his personality is nothing like it. Perry's unselfishness, team-play and willingness to defer makes him perfect for OKC because he has the upside to be one of the best in the draft while being a really good teammate and team player which would help thunder's bench to be a lot more powerful.

Very insightful article on Perry and his past.
http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketb ... basketballThat's what frustrates Jones' inner circle. Everyone thinks they know PJ3, as he's called by his friends, but the perceptions are far from true. The people who believe he was getting money from Baylor during high school might feel differently if they knew Jones was homeless -- bouncing from one $95-a-week hotel room to another -- throughout much of his final prep season.
Those who wonder why he picked the Bears over a national power such as North Carolina or Kansas might understand if they knew that Jones' 40-year-old mother, Terri, was battling a severe heart condition -- she may need a transplant -- 90 minutes away near Dallas.
And anyone who questions Jones' mettle obviously forgets that he passed up an opportunity to be a top-5 NBA draft pick last summer because he didn't feel he was ready. If it isn't tough to know who you are and turn down millions, what is?
Perry Jones is soft, they say? His story suggests he's anything but.
