The guy is a mess. He is a coach killer, he is a malcontent, and he is very talented. Let's be real, the guy can play though.

But he is not a player I would want to be my cornerstone because his personality as a leader sucks.

But 17pts, 10rebs and 3dimes means the guy is doing something right. Even if it's just the 10rebs and 3dimes. He is someone you have to guard in the post. And he is capable of passing out of the post.

I think there are only a few locker rooms that the guy would take a back seat and fall in line. I think OKC's locker room is so tight that he'd fall in line and do what he needs to, to get better and improve and be a good teammate.

It's pretty obvious he is available. So I'm not asking what you think the Kings would take for him I'm asking what would you give up for him.

To me with Liggins getting the start when Thabo was out means to me Brooks is found of the guy. I don't see PJ3 ever getting real minutes here. And if Brooks is in love with Liggins doesn't that mean Lamb is disposable?

Anyway I'm curious to know what people would offer for a guy who has big time talent but the maturity of a second grader.

Well he is a year and a half rental @ best. Since teams these days are trying to get under the cap to poach superstars. He is a head case, but you are dam right the kid can play some ball.

I think the most important thing for the King's right now is to put out a young exciting team by the time they move into Seattle, which is looking like the 14/15 season.

Lamb and Jones will be making a combined 3 million that season, while Mr. Cousin’s will have probably signed a mega deal with some team who thinks they can change him.

I highly doubt the Kings can get any combo of Lamb, Jones, or Jackson.

The Thunder will be paying KD and Russ $35 million combined in the 14/15 season. They need that balance of the 3 million to young vets like Jones and Lamb. In the 14/15 season, the Thunder already have $65 million spoken for with only 8 players on the roster. The Lux tax is at $70 million this season, so I am sure the Thunder, could/would only add $15 million more for 4-6 players. That $15 million is probably a huge over-estimate

I think the Thunder is more interested in getting younger and finding different type of talent through the draft.

With all of that said, the Kings and Thunder are both trying to do the same thing get young great talent. Unless you take Perk off of their hands. By the 14/15 season he is making $9 million and the Thunder could use that money in so many different places.

The Thunder would take Cousins and either a Garcia, Outlaw, or maybe even a Salmons if you are lucky for Big Perk and Maynor.

You could probally squeeze a first or two out of them. But, that is about it. I am sure the Kings could get better talent else where.

I've been championing a trade for Cousins. If you can get him for one of Jones or Lamb plus picks, I say do it. Very few teams would be able to match up with OKC, and his passing and rebounding ability would make him a nice fit next to Ibaka.

I'd not make an expensive gambling like Lamb + Toronto pick. It's either one of them while dumping Perkins contract, or none of them while not dumping Perkins contract. Lamb + Tor 1st would get us a proven bigman from a rebuilding team.

Dude is turnin 23, has a lot of mental concerns, has chucking traits, and didn't develop any further skill on any of the three NBA seasons he had. Usually the third is a breakout year, was not the case for Cousins.

Cheap prospects or good prospect + perkins contract. Which you'll find a crappy offer due to Cousins upside. Well, his downside is not something an established contender would easily like to gamble on. I guess Thunder would never do the second one, because they wouldn't like to rely on Cousins starting. The first one, I think Kings would never accept.

Also, If I were Kings' GM, I'd stick with Cousins and rebuild the rest while keeping Cousins. He's that special prospect. Just give the kid a good environment. First of all, he's the only prospect on the roster that doesn't really need the ball to be effective. Second, he's already a rebounder. Third, he's already has a feel for the game. Give him a good defensive coach to teach him some positional defense. Place some shooters around him to give him an option other than shoot the ball, and you'll see the improvement.

Another point:

Thunder used to be in love with Green, Cook, Maynor. All three has something in common with Liggins. They are marginal prospects, and aren't young. Like these three, Liggins is just acquiring self-value for a future trade. Perry Jones and Jeremy Lamb aren't marginal prospects. They are top5 pick talent. Jeff Green were a top5 pick, but he wasn't a top5 talent with limited upside, not like Jones and Lamb, that are pure potential.

Jeremy Lamb has two things that lacked on Harden to start in Thunder's coaching staff point of view. Clear defensive potential and off the ball scoring oriented skillset. It might be too early to say, but if he doesn't get traded earlier, he's a guy I can see starting for the Thunder two or three seasons from now, if he put together his defensive and offensive tools and potential. You don't exclude a premier talent young player that didn't even had training camp with the Thunder for a 25 years-old hustle player that only came to the NBA last season.

Perry Jones III might emerge, if he doesn't get traded, when Collison reach his twilight. There'll be an open spot on our rotation, and from what we've seen from Perry, he has a nice skillset, will be a good finisher offensively, and a frontcourt of Ibaka-Durant-Perry is too damn long to get outrebounded. He has potential to end up being a better player than Sefolosha, and earn the backup SF spot, while also handling the Collison minutes that might progressively becoming available to grab.

Reggie Jackson, Jeremy Lamb and Perry Jones are Presti-like draft picks: pure potential over readiness. These are guys that take time to pan out. He also has Dallas pick, Toronto pick and OKC own pick to get more pure potential. They fit Presti's plan, because they still have trade value, while they don't put pressure on rotation changes. Cousins is not a fit in this scenario, since Cousins in, forces Brooks to start him, specially if Perkins goes out. Presti and Brooks are not the likes to let someone not veteran to break in the rotation so easily. Harden took almost 3 seasons to be given the second units keys to offense.

And I don't think even if you did that that's a good trade-off for you, cause as mentioned he WILL get the max, and you won't be able to match it, so he'd essentially be a rental for you guys.

Cousins has been playing really well since the Kings suspended him and had the meeting with him. I highly doubt they will take just picks and prospects for him. Ibaka or Westbrook would have to be traded for him, which isn't going to happen. I'm obviously not the biggest Westbrook fan because I think a Rondo like pg would allow Durant more shots/better looks therefore making the team more efficient and better. But I'm not going back into that debate.

It doesn't make sense to trade two promising young players for him also. In order for the Thunder to stay competitive, they need draft picks to pan out and play their roles. Thats how the Spurs have been so competitive for so long despite being a small market team.

Is anyone else interested to see a Ibaka, PJ3, Durant, Thabo, and Westbrook lineup going forward, especially against the heat? If PJ3 can add some strength during workouts when hes sent down to the d-league, he could defend Lebron some. He has the length and athleticism to match up with him but just needs to add strength/defensive awareness.

Sounds like you're talking about Cousins if he was on the OKC roster.

Say if you traded for Cousins and you get him for this year and the next two then you let him walk. But in those three years you'd win 2 rings. Would you give up Lamb, PJ3 and the Toronto pick?

IF and I mean IF the Kings are sold to Hansen, I think they'd be willing to scrap the entire roster looking for youth and picks.

Now if they remain in Sacramento I think you have a point that package wouldn't get it done.

If only DeMarcus were a guaranteed ring... He's far from a proven player. He's a talented player, but no one can deny he is a gamble to any contention team. There's a sensible difference between DeMarcus value on a contender than a building team.

Before the draft I wondered if Cousins was developed by OKC if his potential could be maximized, but I've come to believe that Cousins lacks the work ethic and determination to ever accomplish such a feat and that he isn't worth the trouble and certainly won't be worth the trouble once he gets his next contract.
